Its the peek-a-boo tights and those platform flip-flops that ruined it for us!

P.S. That is an Hermès Jige Croc Clutch on Ms. De!

  1. no no no…this frpm such a classy lady??!!?? minus the leggings and the hideous wedge chappals…this look could have been smashing with pumps or sandals!! this looks needs the right heels. very very very disappointing from the lady who critiques the whole world!!!

  2. omg… i`m thinking of possible reason why the smart lady like her would wear such a footwear with this dress… maybe her sandals broke and she ordered someone to get a pair ..and this is what they got… someone ask her why she did this and let us know!!

  3. Oh no I like those kind of flip-flops!! I hope I’m not a fashion outcast :/
But I would wear them when I’m being very very casual. Like lounging at home casual. Even I can see how they’re totally not appropriate for dressy occasions.

  4. she must be wearing leggings for she didnt want to join the leauge of Sonali kulkarni and Tanisha …
still not a good enough excuse from Ms De.

  5. why is there an Hermes tag? Is it her clutch? If so, she has to be lauded for purchasing a non-Birkin Hermes and not giving in to peer pressure!

  6. I can’t believe she wore those flip flops, I’d die! AND she’s wearing tights? Don’t even get me started on the bottom of the dress, horrible!

  7. maybe the tights are a body shaper. the dress is nice but with those fluted pleats et al it looks like something intended for the 30 something career girl.

    All in all – ouch.

  8. she lookes AMAZING at first
    then I was IT(!)
I hate hate hate hate HATE flip flops in every occasion (aside from, maybe, going to yoga with)
and I don’t particularly like this lady either :/
I believe it was Sonam that called her a porn writer

  9. When I first saw this post, I thought, “Oh, a cute sheath dress, what could be wrong with that?” … and then I saw the rest of the pictures.
Flip-flops are appropriate for the beach and for lounging around, not for a formal dinner, period. If comfort was her concern, there are now so many shoes that are comfortable and chic. Ms. De should know better.
I’m not a big fan of the pleats or the awkward length of the dress, but I’m baffled by the leggings. Like Anu, I have a feeling that it is actually shapewear, and happens to be a tad long.
The saving grace: that gorgeous Hermes clutch! We all know that a Birkin is THE status symbol for some socialites, but quite frankly, I think it’s an overrated bag. It’s impractical for formal occasions, and was originally meant to be paired with business outfits, yet some women lug them around everywhere. Shoba’s clutch is elegant, understated, and looks luxurious without screaming “MONEY!”.

  10. This, from a woman who thinks Sonam Kapoor is fat and unstylish! Did she forget to look at herself in a full length mirror before leaving home?

  11. Why, exactly why would anyone as usually style conscious as Ms.De wear leggings with a dress and then finish off the ruin by wearing platform hideous flip flops??? Love the clutch though!!

  12. I have always thought that Shobha De looks her stylist best only in Indian wear (read: sarees). She has never looked va-va-voom in western clothes.

    I just realized I can’t type.

  13. Flip flops are soo totally wrong for formal events…there’s absolutely no excuse to wear those fugly sandals with such a nice dress and clutch!
