Sari Style

Wearing a Masaba, Shilpa attended the launch of an Anmol jewellery store in Delhi today.

At first glance, I thought Ms. Shetty was wearing a Kasavu sari but the border on here isn’t a zari one. As striking as the white sari and the black blouse are, the draped cowl effect on the side makes it look more like that the sari itself is badly worn. Even though it is just a pre-stitched effect.

Waist up, she looked lovely.

  1. The blouse and the drape totally spoiled this. These sarees are otherwise hard to look bad in – they look lovely with orange/maroon/green blouses.

  2. This look makes me cringe! What a wrong choice of blouse for such a beautiful Kerala Saree… Also the draping is so not right… Such a mess!

  3. This must be ‘set mundu’ a sari style from Kerala. This is supposed to be worn like this only…… The drape is its specialty….. (or it must be combo of regular kerala sari & set mund), friends please search for more information on this in internet 🙂 …. this style is quite famous in south india

  4. Selling a kerala kasavu set mundu under “MASABA”brand is not correct and is absolutely unethical. This is a traditional saree which have been worn by the keralites sinces good old ages. Anyways, the pre stiched saree doesn’t look neat either.

  5. Shilpa looks beautiful in that 3rd pic. I wish she wore a regular set mundu-kasavu saree rather than this faux one “designed” by MASABA. She would have rocked the set mundu.
