In Manish Malhotra
Shilpa chose to wear a sari at the Umang Police show picking a Manish Malhotra one from the designer’s latest Benaras collection. My issue with this look is the drape. I know Shilpa was trying to showcase the blouse but the extremely angled tight folds was quite a put off. Bummer, because she looked so sweet in the sari.
Considering that her blouse was long sleeve which meant one could totally see the contrast between the blouse and the sari, she really didn’t need to drape it the way she did. Agree?
P.S. Her earrings are from Anmol.

Don’t agree with you at all. She looks lovely. It would have looked like too much fabric had she covered the chest with drape. It looks perfect the way it is.
+1
For this saree and this blouse, I think she chose the right draping style. I don’t like the blouse much, but she looks nice 🙂
Agreed. She looks awesome.
+100.
well she is going to drape/wear clothes that show off her figure every single time! coz she is working hard on it and then to go and hide it will be counterproductive in her books ;D
She looks gorgeous in a very earthy way. The patterns seem to clash but she looks good nevertheless.
Oh look….Manish Malhotra used up the left over fabric from Aditya’s sherwani for Shilpa’s blouse

At least what MM lacks in aesthetics and taste he makes up for with a strong sense of economy….
Hahahaha so true!!

+1 You wrote exactly what I wanted to write, both sentences. That’s exactly what came to my mind when I saw this.
+10000000!!!! Hahahahaha
I LOL’d at work 😀 😛
lol
Omg you are totally right! Lmaoooo
Your comment just won the internet! Haha
ha ha.. was wondering why it looks so familiar!!
HAHAAHAA
hahaha
OMG! You are hilarious and what a catch! 😉 😉
I’m not a fan of the sari, but disagree that the drape could have been anything but this. She rightly chose to show-off the brocade of the blouse which in itself is so gorgeous!
It’s an odd drape. And frankly I don’t care much for the sari. But she’s looking mighty fetchin’
Well, I feel that multi-coloured zari-bordered saree needed a different blouse and that full sleeved zari blouse needed a different saree, may be a monochrome one! I too have a problem with that tightly pinned saree but she looks sweet nonetheless.
i like neither the blouse nor the saree in themselves, but like you say, shilpa elevates the entire look. i think this particular drape works, because it helps cut the clashing prints and colours this way. she looks lovely.
Whatever the grace the saree had is lost in that tight tugging of the pallu in an effort to show the body. After all these years of seeing Shilpa’s dressing, what I can say is Shilpa has a fantastic figure but, some elegance and class is needed to present it in a pleasing way. Just a great body is not enough, good dressing to compliment it is required. Also she need to tone down her bling and makeup, generally speaking. The only time she looked classy is in her film ‘Dhadkan’. I wish she dresses classily like dressed in that movie, she will look great.
I’m flipping over this saree! I WAAANT! She looks lovely!
i would never pair this saree and this blouse together….especially after seeing this picture…maybe it works on the ramp if the designer is making a case to sell both, but definitely not a combination otherwise
That blouse is a gorgeous brocade and neck up Shilpa looks flawless. But I don’t think the saree goes with the blouse at all. In spite of the unusual draping to show off the blouse, the busy colors in the saree take attention away from the blouse. I wish she had chosen a simpler monochrome saree. And that black potli is an eye sore. This is definitely a not quite for me.
I don’t like this blouse and sari combination. actually I don’t like anything in this!!
love her makeup here..the brocade suits her!
She looks gorgeous. All that brocade and she still makes it work.
