a front pose pic would be better to judge. but the bag is definetly a no-no. a silver colour would have been okay. and she should have worn a watch or some bangles…her hands look very empty.

Looking regal in one of the most royal colors!

This is a normal saree we see on so many actresses (some people were asking for it). I liked her earlier sarees. She could have carried her batua style purses instead of this black purse. Hope she dazzles in the closing ceremony. Waiting for better pictures.

Adding, of course she looks pretty and regal, but that’s a given.

I know this is not a place to speak about Angelina Jolie at the premiere, but she looks drop dead gorgeous in her nude gown and bright red lips.

I dont know why but I’m really not feeling this sari. I’m sure it’s not, but it looks very cheap polyester-ish.

wow gorgeous, best so far. actually dont mind the bag.

I absolutely dislike everything she has worn so far. Because she chose to wear indian style clothing to a western event her clothing should have been a lot fancier, it should really stand out-she’s not dressing for india she’s dressing for an international audience. This is so boring, what is this “regal” crap, that is anything but regal. Aged housewife sari going to a wedding-the 50th of the year so she’s recycling saris-that’s what I think of when I look at her. This is so disappointing. She has aged so incredibly well but her saris are just ugly.

    I think she looks amazing
you can never go wrong when going simple

This has got be one of the nicest white saris I’ve seen. I think white sari can be quite tricky, either it looks too cheap or it looks very gaudy with a thousand studded silver work on it that just adds on to the fabric unnecessarily. This one is very good.
Nice bag as a separate, but not with this obviously. Must be the bit about limited accessories..but weird because most women take silver and gold as a given when it comes to accessorizing saris. Like I would never pack a black bag with a sari wardrobe.
Yes the arms looks too bare…but she looks super classy and beautiful!

Pouches, mini bags etc look wrong with desi outfits unless its a clutch

Looking fantastic without a doubt! I agree with charan and Dia, she needs a few bangles to liven up the situation a bit.

Now who is that next to her with those LV heels(or at least a moderation/knockoff)? If they are even LV’s? oh boo whatever. ;-)

    Awww-rite!!! Now we’re talking glam.
So glad to see her up the glam quotient. The black bag isnt too bad but I guess a grey (from the pearls) or silver (from the saree border) would have done much better.

Actually the ‘kaam’ on the sari is v. beautiful – I just wish there was more of it as its pretty simple. I guess thats the look shes going for though, the pearl jewelery is perfect on it, but I agree the bag is ruining the look.

she sets a good example for those mumbai socialites and actresses who mistakenly think bling is best. she looks poised and dignified

i think she looks fab.. i think doing no minimum accessories is classic… she is soo gorgeous that she doesnt need to bling it up.. the black might not be perfect.. but who cares.. i mean for her age to pull off such a good look with a simple sari and minimum accessories – that is my dream!

I love her in all her appearances…she is just WOW.

I’m so glad she’s being sensible about her clothing by not going the OTT bling bling way. *sigh of relief*

She looks strictly OK. I was happy that she chose ethnic sarees over designer on earlier occasions, but if she had to change to designer saris she would have looked far ‘regal” in Abu Sandeep, Sabya or Shahab Durazi than this

whats the talk about angelina- she wore a revealing dress in naked skin colour with a slit up her thigh way too high added to a plunging neckline- trying too hard and way too much skin
i get why the guys are all falling all over themselves ..but good fashion it is not

@ Lori – Have you ever considered that maybe this is her style? Big deal this is Cannes, I’m so sick of people saying ‘ohh this is such a big event, she should of wore something more fancy’. She doesn’t need to impress anyone, she’s not vying for a movie role…she’s there as a jury member for the festival.

As far as I’m concerned, Sharmila looks good in anything because she carries herself as a classy woman
