Satya Paul: LFW Summer/Resort 2010

March 16th, 2010 at 11:14 am . by Priyanka

There were a few shows we couldn’t wait for them to get over and this was one of them. Nothing new or imaginative on offer, it was ‘same ol’-same ol’ trussed up.

Pastels in georgettes, crepe, satin, chiffon with easy fluid drapes or textured accents with crushed fabric and embellishments were sent down the Satya Paul runway. Abstract prints, florals and heavy embroidery made up the rather extensive range of silhouettes shown on the runway, right from saris to gowns, to cocktail dresses, minis and churidaars. Whew.

And yet, nothing stood out.

    love the water colour print.

  6. ash says:

I usually LOVE satya paul, but I agree their spring collection is pretty lacklustre, I prefer the silk collection they did last season, was it called the resham collection or something? Anyway that was gorgeous and something different from them.

  7. ashi says:

i like the use of grey and white in one outfit. not much for the blingtastic collection though

  8. Rohini says:

    Nothing special, but very wearable

  9. Kanira says:

I do like the last row…all the white and grey stuff…maybe I am just boring..

  10. genieloo says:

That grey anarkali or whatever that thing is IS AWESOME! I generally dislike Indian wear due to its bling and shine and OTT ghettoness, but that grey one is differen from the usual fare I see or maybe its just the color thats a unique color for Indian wear. Regardless I’d hit that!

  11. SK says:

the grey anarkali… sigh! it is lovely :)
the rest of the collection has nothing “designer” about it but i’ll bet my bottom $$ that it sells like hot cakes!
its very wearable for the non-celebrity-socialite-woman.

I like the multicolored one shoulder dress that Diandra is wearing. So flowy and totally wearable. Diandra’s features stand out so much with the bald head – who would’ve thought?!

  15. kiwi says:

I actually disagree P & P, their clothes are lovely and very wearable.. some of the sarees, churidaars you have featured are great.. wearable may mean a bit boring from a ‘style’ perspective but folks like us need these for daily wear

  16. eclat says:

I actually like the print on the saree worn by Mandira and the gown on Diandra- lovely and summery.
