Underwhelmed

Going by her last few appearances we thought Vidya Balan finally got it together, but nope, her look at a recent do left us really underwhelmed…

  1. I get this strange feeling that vidya balan belongs to another time. She would have been a smashing beauty in the 60s or 70s…her face, her image, her clothes…everything gives off a vibe that she is half a century too late.

  2. i think that lavender colour really suits her.. i really think she should carry a clutch coz i dont like to carry cell phone like that. and those churidars definately need an alteration!

  3. I’m not going to comment on Vidya’s style…but I’m glad that she is wearing suits instead of dresses..Dresses just aren’t meant for Vidya.

  4. Not just the sandals, even the churidar is too loose! Still, at least she picked an Indian outfit…I wish I had the white suit she wore for Slumdog…sigh!

  5. Some people cant do versatile trends…vidaya’s one of them. She should stick to her Indian attire…just thinking about kismet konnections make me cringe lol

  6. Churidhar could be a better fit.
Not a fan of this kind of glittery gold/silver splattered/splotched fabric (Ayesha Takia’s saree, Vidya Balan’s kurta, Ash’s Star Screen sea foam kurta)….NONE of these look good…all of them were at least underwhelming…and perhaps even tasteless.

I do think poor Vidya is picked on a bit too much…not here on HHC…but the targeting at last years filmfare awards…
Not very cool at all. She doesn’t fare much worse wrt fashion than an Amrita Rao or Sushmita Sen judging by recent appearances!!

  7. I agree with the poster who says Vidya is out of whack with this age. In fact she shouldn’t be wearing this blingy MMy style stuff either. She’s more in the mould of Smita/Shabana in the 70s and 80s – kind of ethnic stuff with colours like turmeric yellow, maroon etc. She looks great in a sari.

Its sad that ethnic wear is as good as dead. And more sad to see the dusky girls with stocky curvy Indian frames squeezing themselves into unsuitable dresses. Unsuitable in colour and cut.

  8. I really like Vidya .. she can look so fabulous if she picked the right clothes. I agree that traditonal wear really melts with her persona. In THIS photo, I am sorry to say but the first thing I thought of was that it looked like a kaamwaali’s outfit. It looks cheap. I wish to see Vidya in lovely rich tasteful sarees!
