Sari Style

After a string of appearances in androgynous looks, it sure was a surprise to see Sameera in a sari. Can’t quite say though that the surprise was a good one. Not a fan of the sari, especially the embroidered part. And after the looks we’ve seen her in, surprised she picked this sari.

P.S. The sari is a Nachiket Barve.

  1. Wow she actually looks charming when she smiles rather than the weird constipated look she has been giving the cameras for the last few months. I think the colours look great on her. I like it.

    • I agree! I always commend innovative designs of sarees which enables us to wear a traditional garment in new ways. I like this particular one as well; love the popping color contrasts and the embroidered bit adds a great visual twist!
And to Sameera’s credit she has draped it well.

  2. this is so weird.. worst of almost all the sarees i ve seen in my life … why call it designer.. i wud rather pity a woman who cannot afford good clothes for herself… may be a poor woman dressed like that wud satisfy my curiousity.. but why is she wearing that ??

    • So true! This is the most pretty I’ve seen her look all thanks to the smile, and that she looks so much more comfy in this than her other ‘stylish’ clothes.

  3. P & P, I’m sorry, but this blatant classism has to be stopped on your blog…. First it was someone calling out a bai’s saree, now it’s the lady above talking about poor women. Of course, such comments may reflect real world thinking but they don’t need to be published here, right? 🙂
