In Nachiket Barve

Wearing a Nachiket Barve A/W 2014 look, Samantha attended a graduation ceremony in Chennai today where she served as the chief guest. While I love the top, inspired by tattoos worn by the Maori tribe, can’t quite say I feel the same way about the skirt. Was neither a fan of the material (is that velvet?) nor the sheer panels.

Waist up though, she looked fabulous.

    • Agree!! She always tries to be flamboyant but wish she dresses to the occasion! Wearing crushed tunics to weddings, distressed jeans to charity events and skimpy skirts for graduation events.. None of them seem to be event appropriate!

  1. Kadavale !!!! That skirt to a graduation ceremony !! Crazy idea.. Unless the graduation ceremony was that of a fashion institute..

The outfit looks good on the runway..
Wish she had worn this with a diff pair of heels to a diff event..

  2. What was in her mind when she chose the skirt? its no movie party..but graduation ceremony in a school or college. The thigh high slits are very inappropriate to wear at such an event.

  4. Those sheer panels!! Hate the skirt. Also kind of inappropriate considering the event. Would have been so much better with a nice pair of straight leg or slim pants and pumps.

  5. Love the top and want one

But the Maori are not a tribe. They are the people of New Zealand made up of many tribal groups
It would be like calling the entire population of native Americans a tribe

    Kia Kaha 🙂

  6. I love Sam but this is the ugliest outfit I’ve ever seen on her. What was she thinking?! SO unflattering and event inappropriate.

  7. Yikes!!! That outfit needs to be burned pronto. For someone as short as her a blouse like that makes her look stocky. There’s no way she looked nice waist up. As for the waist down bit – unless she broke into a cabaret at that event, there can be no justification for wearing a skirt like that. This is a college in Chennai – surely she ought to have know how inappropriate it is. I understand that she has a stylist who put together the look for her – but surely she ought to have had some basic sense of fashion to say that the outfit does not work. Would like to see if she can put together a decent outfit and not something that’s put together by neerja or the other stylists.

  8. Folks, where is the fashion policing here? The boxy top is cut off at her widest part part of the hip. The skirt is ill-fitting. Not to miss that flap in the middle flapping away in the wind. At this point, who cares about the embroidery shemroidery? Oh ya, the outfit is also not event appropriate.

  9. Maori people, not tribe. You gals need to look up from your fashion mags and get out a bit more in the real world.

    Also, outfit sucks.
