  1. the last photo looks like the model is wearing a basket. I am with Surbhi… I dont get it either.
(maybe it has an eco-friendly ring to it… recycle old village baskets)

  2. lol Anu*! it does look like a woven basket! hehe

i think the 7th pic, the jacket would translate well as a winter coat…i know i’d wear it but its gotta be warm!! the rest its not doing anything for me, nothing i’d go WOW over…

  3. LOL, looks like I am the only one who likes his collection. He is one of my favourite Indian designers. His study of cultivation of silk to fabric to the making of the garment is also admirable. I am still in love with his asymmetrical dress with sequin vest from his 2 seasons old collection, I wish I could have them.
Coming back to this collection, I don’t like the styling and the boots. I really like one dress, but it’s not featured here. Yeah, he makes eco-friendly garments. This collection is similar to the 2 seasons old collection; glad he got rid of those metallics, maybe he listened. I don’t like every piece he creates, but I prefer to go through his collection than the others.

for it’s very rare that an Indian colletion is cohesive and this one CERTAINLY is (if not in the least creative way)

  5. I’m sure it takes a lot of effort to make such creative statements and it’s surely not for evryone to understand…I’m glad I have been gifted with the eye to admire this.

    Simply love it!
Kudo to Samant Chauhan… YET AGAIN!!!

  6. After a mundane and melodramatic show of the first designer, it was a great relief to see Samant Chauhan’s original style come alive on the Wills India Fashion Week ramp.

The clothes may have an unfinished look but thats the USP he has been carrying since the beginning. It takes a lot to keep a signature style going…I salute the person and the thought behind his creations.

    Cheers

  8. I actually like this collection- it looks thought through and the textures are nice.Though i must admit, just the fact that there isn’t a bit of brocade patchwork to be seen makes me want to go Yay!

  9. Wow! I just cant believe that there can be so many variations made out of one single colour and fabric!

This is talent and this is passion.

Where can I buy this stuff?

  10. Vishal, I just found his blog, he has posted some there. Man I want them all; the back side look beautiful and interesting as well. We need to support (encourage) him.
He embraces and embodies Indian arts and aesthetics so beautifully, giving a modern twist. Hope he maintains the ethical and aesthetic values that he thinks through his creations.
