The Bag Ladies

TV actress Roshni Chopra and Shweta Bharadwaj (of Mission Istanbul) attended Anu Ranjan’s brunch dressed similarly, matching their bags (a Fendi Spy and a Balenciaga Motorcycle) to their shoes and pairing it with a printed dress.

Dig either or neither? (This was a neither for us because of their unimpressive dresses but we loved Shweta’s orange Balenciaga. Now if only she didn’t have the Manyata hair! )

  2. girl power all the way.. think they look very casual and relaxed also it’s good that they’re both not wearing too much make up. These girs could give the film A listers a run for their money 🙂

  3. i like swheta’s dress too! it reminds me of a tribal print…masai mara, kenya…africa? and yup if she pared it with flats it would have been a really relaxed chic look! any ideas what the dress is, i.e who its by? and how much?

  7. This is a question I seem to be asking ALL the time: given that their outfits have SO many colors, isn’t okay to wear bags + shoes in the same color? Wouldn’t it be too many colors otherwise? And if they kept the shoes the way they are and went for bags in different colors, what colors would you suggest they go with? One of the colors from their dresses…..now wouldn’t that be matchy-matchy too? On the other hand, a color they aren’t already wearing…..wouldn’t that be too rainbow like?
This is not a rhetorical question…I *really* don’t know what to do when wearing an outfit with several colors.

In my opinion, over matching is never subtle, it just adds to the overwhelming nature of very colorful clothing. I think VERY colorful clothing calls for neutrals (a la Roshni) and metallics, or at least very muted colors. A dark blue shoe (or red, or green or even orange) would have looked fine on Shweta.
…I want to drink that Balenciaga…

  13. Funny how so many photographs inevitably contain some garbage …..isnt it ironic that all these women with their expensive dresses and bags and posing with so much oomph… but still have to stand amongst the kachra – but I guess thats the irony that today’s India is !

  14. Sweta’s strapless dress is GORGEOUS! Where’s it from?? If it’s not work a kazillion dollars then I might think about buying it.

I love the orange bag and the orange shoes. I think the dress itself has so much going on that all that orange just clashes. These pieces separately would look WAY BETTER..
