In Masaba

Rhea was another one to do a sari at Manish’s party wearing a white one by Masaba. Because her full-sleeved blouse was sheer, she wore it with a bralet by Pushpak Vimaan.

Coming to her look, between the puffy sleeves and the belt, the sari didn’t look flattering at all. Skip the belt and swap the blouse for a sleeveless one and I think she would’ve fared a whole lot better.

But, Rhea does likes to march to her own beat, and something tells us, she doesn’t really care for anything we all have to say, either. 😉

  1. I don’t know if she was going for flown boho, but the problem I have with this is that it looks messy, or rather sloppy. While I agree re the belt and blouse (incl that it should have been a different colour), the saree itself is tied rather messily, and an updo would have cut down on the volume. By contrast, she looked lovely in a saree she wore at a wedding a few weeks back.

  2. Usually it is not so black and white to judge but this one is easy …its a complete fail.

One request please upload Sidhartha Malhotra’s pic from the same event.

  3. Bralet by Pushpak Vimaan! I am dying to know who her panties were by? I mean it is a white bralet, worn inside her blouse does it matter who the designer is?

  4. I love the fact that Rhea and Sonam march to their own beat than following the usual ( read it as abu jani, sabya, manish and many more). Bring on more of Yanina, Stephane Rolland and Caroline Haydens….Kapoor sisters! I love the way how you both stand out!!

  5. First rule of fashion – dress for your body type. Seems like Rhea forgot to do that 🙂

The blouse ain’t working & I feel like this outfit overall would’ve looked better on a statuesque person.

  6. I get she was going for a bit of a monochrome look, but honestly that outfit is just too Nirupa Roy widow-y. It’s like she’s going to a funeral! But I must say, her persona still shines through – she’s got that fierceness going on that keeps drawing one to her face. But that’s all her. The outfit is trash.

  7. Bralet by Pushpak Vimaan??? Hahahaha. Thanks for a hearty laugh! This particular looks reeks lack of class (I know that sounds kinda mean!). It is always hard to believe that she is a ‘stylist’.

  8. She only gets away with dressing like a lunatic because she is famous and rich. If she was an ordinary person, people would treat her with disdain.

  9. Imagine if Vidya attempted this.. poor woman’s choice would be ripped to shreds.. I find this look quite ridiculous.. wear a regular blouse if ur such a prude .. what is the point of wearing a bralet with a shirt ??!

  10. whatever she was aiming has been massive flop, she looks so much meatier than she actually is.

my first reaction on seeing her : Dhumavaati avatar of Durgaa Maa.

Next one: teacher in a swadeshi girl’s school in pre independence era.

  11. Ha ha the comments are absolutely hilarious!! I also agree that this is totally a let down! It’s a crime in the name of fashion!! She should’ve been stopped right at the gates and asked to go home and change and come back ha ha i know this sounds harsh but i’m just saying for the sake of laughter!!

  12. I can see what she was aiming for here. It’s a LOT of look, to be sure. I wonder if it’s not photographing well.. if, for example, that blouse looks better – less shiny/less polyester-y – in real life. On the whole, I find the look interesting – she’s bringing a certain structure and buttoned-up-ness to the sari, which is pretty much the definition of an unstructured, free-flowing garment. It also makes her look statuesque. She looks 10′ tall in the photo. I’m going with a slow thumbs up.
