Those are love-’em-or-hate-’em shoes. I hate ’em.

I agree… I surprised P&P have spared the many flaws in this ensemble… I mean its not just the shoes… the bag, the colour of the dress.. the whole look just doesn’t work… looks like something is amiss… I can’t seem to put a finger on it but usually P&P pick up on stuff like this.. perhaps they decided to go easy on the girl.. I wonder why though..

Don’t like the dress. The dress seems to be a throwback to an earlier time. The sandals seem a case of match much.Sure the look spells money but not much else.

I can’t put my finger on i.. but this look ain’t working for me. Maybe its the sunglasses(too round for her face), the bag, the fit of the dress also does not seem right.. something is missing.

is this sonams sister? she looks fab. a little more of a sophisticated look- nice

  5. ms. meow at | | Reply

Granted she looks like she is having a lot of fun with the look, but this is a bit much for a day look.

  6. HB at | | Reply

    Maybe a little too matchy.

  7. luvstonz at | | Reply

    Matchy matchy?

The sunglasses looked way toooo big on her

Love the red with pearls.. but those glasses, hair and shoes are killing it all.

  9. umm at | | Reply

the pearls r too much. shoes too ugly lol.. and she looks like sri devis daughter to be honest

    1. marky at | | Reply

no she doesnt. talk about being way off the topic. stick to commenting about fashion dont get personal or have agendas :P

      1. marky at | | Reply

FYI … sridevi and her daughters have better fashion sense and almost always dress better so there

  10. Pri at | | Reply

Eeeek no! I know it should all be right, but this look is so wrong! Forget about the pearls, they are okay but I can’t get past those shades and her weirdly parted hair! She should
    a) cut her hair
    b) dress more age appropriate (she is not 70)
    c) when she does turn 70, still not wear that dress with those pearls to the races!

I like her style usually, but this makes her look a bit like MINNY MOUSE

  12. pdaervo at | | Reply

I want to make love to that dress. It’s so beautiful.
However, again- the rest of the look sort of falls flat. The Chanel look with the Dior silhouette is a bit much.

    1. Stuti at | | Reply

I want to make love IN that dress. ^_^

      1. pdaervo at | | Reply

Judging by how tight the bodice looks, it seems that that would be uncomfortable.
I meant it as a figure of speech :D

        1. marky at | | Reply

yeah exactly my thoughts the bodice is way too tight :P

          1. pdaervo at |

But it’s a vintage dress, the clothes are supposed to fit that way. Think of the kind of undergarments they had to wear to get the right shape!

Which Shades are these? I want them!! Please ID anyone. Thanks

  14. tavleen at | | Reply

What about those shoes.Someone please scream they are horendoes.A bag attached to a shoe.its a Wtthey!!!!!

    1. Pri at | | Reply

LOL I think that was the way it was styled for the runway, it’s not actually a bag and a shoe attached together. Although you could always buy both and put them together like that.

      1. mary at | | Reply

even without the bag they are pretty tacky

  15. H at | | Reply

Everything else the same, I think it would’ve worked if the dress was white and shorter.

  16. Orchee at | | Reply

    These shoes are ADORABLE!

  17. star at | | Reply

like the dress, the perals and the bag..hate the shoes and the shades.

  18. wiwi at | | Reply

it screams i am rich and can buy labels. the sandals are awful. much match and the glasses are too big for her face

  19. Rajvi at | | Reply

what’s that on her shoe.. ?

  20. amna at | | Reply

she looks like a dork in those shades! ppl need to understand big shades were and are IN so to say but only if they suit you.. the bag again is TOO big for a dress like this, maybe jeans and a tank wouldve pulled off the bag better, this look either with a clutch or nothing at all…

rhea needs some dash cash study! a combination of high end expensive stuff isnt always right.

  21. DressyDresser at | | Reply

I love this look! Both Sonam and Rhea have great style! :)

dislike everything except for the hair. ah i love long, wavy hair that has volume.
at the risk of sounding snobbish, the whole outfit looks cheap- the patent bag, the red dress with the bow (i have something against red dresses, they’re just so IN YOUR FACE), the horrendous chanel shoes (i dislike chanel’s clothes and shoes- i only love the bags, swoooon).
am on the fence for the pearls- they’re chic, but i just dislike the look so much.

    1. Carol at | | Reply

Exactly. The entire look screams wannabe fashionable but rich and clueless.

    2. hira at | | Reply

You can get the same long wavy hair as well as with extensions,
the volume of her hair at the bottom is unnatural, real hair tapers down beautifully, whereas with extensions the ends of the hair look unnaturally full, the clear indicator of extensions

      1. Kish at | | Reply

thanks =) i really thought they were her natural hair. let down =(

        1. Kish at | | Reply

i mean it is* not they were

  23. shooting star at | | Reply

i like the shoes best, a bit over the top but so bold!!!…and yeah i love her luk too!!

  24. krk at | | Reply

not really…the dress is cute but a little tight on her, its cutting into her armpits & squishing her boobs.

Also, there are too many things going on – big glasses, multi strands, statement bag, statement shoes, color of dress… needs editing….after all Coco Chanel did say,” before you step out, look in the mirror and remove one accessory”

      I think she is ” Chanelling” a 50s wanabe here !
The big sis is more stylish I think !

  25. annie at | | Reply

Hate the dress, the purse, the shoes and the pearls. The sunglasses don’t suit her face. Hair could have been better.

  26. Jasmine at | | Reply

Love it ! You guys should post a picture of elle editor in chief, nonita kalra . She wore a really sophisticated silhouette for the event..just google elle india race and click on the link by times of india :)

  27. sania chaudhri at | | Reply

this look is NOT for her,her style should be edgier, she looks older than her years.
VERY few people can pull those chanel shoes off…maybe Milla Jovovich,Chloe Sevigny, afraid she doesnt!

  28. Tongue in Chic at | | Reply

    She has beautiful hair.

  29. Hema at | | Reply

Don’t like the hair extensions, the showy pearls, the oversized bag, the overwhelming sunglasses and the too-tight at the bust dress.

  30. wiwi at | | Reply

her style is of 85 old bouriya not i 22 years old girl. she wants to look chic but didn’t work. horibbleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  31. lolita at | | Reply

Classic case of overdose of accessories killing the look….

Personally, if she got rid of the bag and pearls she would look chic…

  32. SR at | | Reply

Well according to Rhea (via twitter) the dress is £20 from a Vintage Store in Carnaby Street, $20 shades from Soho..so looks like the only designer piece she has on are the bag (Valentino) and Chanel Shoes!

She looks good minus the pearls, somehow she makes them look bit tacky =S

    1. SS at | | Reply

Just because it’s from a vintage store doesn’t mean it’s not designer – it just means it’s not off the current runways. Julia Roberts wore a vintage Valentino gown when she won her Oscar for Erin Brockovich. Often, fabulous vintage designer pieces can be found in thrift stores and consignment shops, and it’s great fun to go hunting for them! :)

  33. FashionFaff at | | Reply

The shoes are ugly, the pearls are unnecessary and it really is a case of ‘match-mutch’. I mean, this may as well have been Divya Khosla Kumar doing what she does best!

  34. jen at | | Reply

i would have worn that dress with nude pumps, and a nice broach instead of pearls

    1. jen at | | Reply

a broach on the shoulder that is

  35. Pria at | | Reply

something is off…i think its the shape of the dress that is not flattering on her frame; makes her look lanky

  36. sara at | | Reply

the dress would have looked much better without that bag, the pearls, and the shoes. I guess, ppl just like to show off how much money they have, but rather don’t have the brains to put it well together.

  37. SS at | | Reply

I love the entire look – the elegant, old-school dress-and-pearls combo with the kitsch shoes win major brownie points for Rhea in my book.

  38. lg_lko at | | Reply

I go by the rule that the dress should at least appeal to you without knowing price/brand, etc. and this one doesn’t so NO for me.

  39. Karen at | | Reply

What is that weird circular thing protruding on the right of her first button?

    1. Divya at | | Reply

I think it’s an optical illusion cuz I see a hair strand, nothing else.

  40. Lalitha at | | Reply

The dress and pearls are great…just lurve the dress…she should have nixed the shoes though!

  41. suhani at | | Reply

hate to sound rude but she really looks old compered to sonam, sonam looks way more younger for her age.

  42. Divya at | | Reply

She looks old….just not age appropriate at all

  43. ko at | | Reply

looks like anil shaved and wore a wig & red dress..striking resemblence to dad her

i am okay with the pearls..shoes shades & bag should have been different

  44. suzy q at | | Reply

i like it a lot. i don’t think the pearls are a bit much. nor the dress. nor the hair. i’m not a fan of the shades, but it’s mumbai’ maybe they were absolutely necessary…

and neither kapoor sister has extensions…i don’t like the shoes, but it’s okay. i definitely see why rhea kapoor has stuck to behind-the-scenes film work though.

  45. HHC Fan at | | Reply

those her are real hair…she has nice long hair. come on hair is in their genes! they don’t need wigs and extensions! just look at anil kapoor! :P this does make her look old….but i like it. except the bag.

A lovely dress wasted…the look is just not working…too much going on! did someone called her mini mouse? :):)

She is stunning, very well put together! Not the stupid white cliche / floral – standard racing attire. she is bold, sexy and the queen of chic
