For a shoot and on a show, these ladies opted for Pratima Gaurav kurta-churidaars. Whose look are you gravitating more towards?

  1. th eblue is such an ordinary dress…you need a designer??? go to any local dress shop in mumbai and you’l find hordes of such dresses…

    • I find the opposite. Nothing in dress shops is ever simple, there’s always some unnecessary embellishment which just ruins the entire suit. We need designers to re-simplify our clothes, before the excessive MM-style embellishment explodes.

My case: I love soft cotton chikan-work kurtas, yet sifting through the several stores in Hyderabad and Mumbai led me to several synthetic material ones which tacky sequins spread within the embroidery. I had to pay Rs 4000 at some designer place called Lotus House, Mumbai for a simple cotton kurta.

      • Yes, I was running out of time. It doesn’t help that I’m not a local. But still, cotton shouldn’t be so hard to find!

        End of rant.

  3. Both of these suits look so impeccably constructed (unlike Mm’s anarkalis, for instance). Love the understated elegance and the strong colors!

  4. Raveena’s all the way! Love the understated nature of it, that the hemline’s just perfect, and the kameez drapes so nicely. I hate the long anarkalis, the MM ones, which seem to swallow the wearer.
