In Anita Dongre

Wearing an orange Anita Dongre long anarkali, Raveena attended a jewellery store opening and while she looked good, we did have one teeny-weeny minor gripe. The bronzer felt a bit heavy-handed here.

What do you think?

  1. Bronzer maybe a bit heavy, but appreciate that nails & lips were muted. However, the bright mass of one colour was rather unimaginative.

  2. Sridevi, Madhuri and Raveena all three of them look equally filmy, gaudy and sequin clad to me. But I don’t criticize and insult them because their careers are built upon their sheer hard work and talent unlike the star kids we see today who have filmy background. I wish these ladies tone down their bling and incorporate more handlooms in their dressing.

    • Sridevi is a LEGEND. She has been acting from age 4 in Tamil movies. She ruled the South (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam & Kannada) working in some 400 movies even before she stepped in to Bollywood. Yeah even she gets brickbats. Definitely her elegance and class particularly in a Saree, the newbies nor even the ones who have been there for more than 2 decades in Bollywood can match. 😛

      • Yes Sridevi ji started acting from age 4 in Telugu movies too and she is a superstar. But I think I used to like her contemporary Jaya Prada ji from 70s. But I would never criticize any actresses from 70s and 80s. All of them were special. And the actresses from 50s and 60s tho, I respect a lot.

        • Aww, lol! Check Jayaprada ji out in the old Tamil movie- Ninaithale Inikum if you haven’t. Her hair cut is too cute & mighty different in that unlike her usual style.

          • I’ll check that. Jayapradaji used to look beautiful in 70s and 80s Telugu movies like Sagarasangamam, veta etc in non OTT looks. Ever since her Bollywood career started, she started looking gaudy and sequin clad, same like what happened to Srideviji.
But the actress and woman I admire, love and respect is Amala Akkineni from 80s and 90s. I admire her for her beauty, classy dressing and her social service. She used to look modern and stylish in Western outfits and elegant and restrained in Indian wear. I tend to gravitate to such people, may be because they are my type.
