Back With A Bang?

It’s been eons (or feels that way) since we saw Rani but fret not because we’ll be seeing lots of her in the coming weeks as she promotes her new movie ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’.
At her first promotional event, the actress appeared on India’s Got Talent wearing a blue top with a black skirt and stappy gladiator sandals. No doubt that she looks gorgeous but her outfit to me wasn’t up to par. The skirt was a bit snug and I wish she had chosen ankle length sandals vs the above ankle pair she has on. Her legs would have looked much longer then.

  1. Me no likey.. she looked way too conscious throughout the show.. add to that baggy top which does nothing for her figure.. the ill fitting skirt and the shoes.. both combine to make her look wide in the hips and fleshy in the calves

Mayb her style improves in subsequent promotions..

  3. That outfit is not flattering – it makes her look boxy. I’ll repeat once again that gladiator make legs look chunky and feet big and wide.

She looks good from the neck up except in the close up pictures where you can see she is wearing pan cake makeup for the cameras.

  4. any pair of shoes that straps at the ankle and above makes one leg’s look shorter. the shoes she has on are not very attractive either.

  5. Rani is short. As a short person my advice is to avoid the 80s look of loose tops (unless u r wearing high heels with flare jeans) and wear clothes that have some shape. And also avoid glads that go high up…they make you look shorter and stouter. Skirts should always be above knee or ankle long…anything in between makes you look short…that’s all. But she looks lovely neck up!

  6. I don’t know why, it’s not what she is wearing or her looks, but I feel Rani seems to have lost her charm. Where is the exotic lass who was full of life, and had a million watt smile??

    • I know right.. She’s totally trying too hard. She looks great – neck up.. but her clothes esp. those gladiators are not working! Rani wear some chudidaars!!!!!!!!!

  7. To be very honest it looks slightly amusing to see Rani in this form since we’re so used to seeing her in her drab form in personal appearances and this clear attempt to be chic and ‘in’ is just so transparent and obvious it becomes amusing. Sorry.

    • I agree. It is apparent that she is trying so (too) hard and comes off looking unconfident and very uncomfortable. I also agree w/someone’s comment that she just doesn’t have that charm anymore. Rani used to be lively and have this flirtatious charm to her but it’s lost here. She looks old and worn out and is dressed horribly.

  8. The outfit, it goes without saying, does not work. It’s not her, she’s not confident or comfortable(she looks so out of place) in it and the makeup is caked… I always say if a person is happy, confident and at home in what they are wearing all is forgiven… here we have the opposite.

  9. I think I’ll be in the minority but I really love love love those shoes.
I think Rani’s heading in the right direction & picked the right colours & elements (blue sleeveless top & black skirt) but they fail her because they are ill-fitting.
It would’ve looked better if the skirt was a couple of inches above the knee & fitted (think bodycon). I am short like Rani & dresses & skirts that are inches above the knee give the illusion I am average height LOL.
Overall I think it is a good effort. Yes it is not perfect & none of us who think we know how to dress would’ve have put this together – but we have all made mistakes when we first became interested (or obsessed lol) in fashion. I really really hope that Rani continues to experiment with Western fashion. I’m excited to watch her progress.

  10. The outfit is fine. Just the skirt could be tighter, as someone pointed out it should be bodycon. The blue suits her great and the shoes are gorgeous!!!

  11. rani is gorgeous and she looks great in the movies but she cannot put together an outfit in real life to save her life. that blue top is cute, that skirt and shoes are hideous.

  12. I have to admit a bias here…there’s just something about her that rubs me the wrong way.
Even if I loved her, though, I have to say that the outfit does NOT work. Perhaps if she skirt was more fitted, high-waisted and just an inch or two shorter, it would have been great. I TOTALLY agree with HCC Fan; I’m shorter than Rani- I always take my skirts to the tailor (aka my mom) in order to shorten them a few inches. Shape is very important, especiallly when one is short, petit, and has Rani’s body type. I know this from experience.

  13. Not a fan of what she is wearing but she is looking much better than she has looked in ages. I don’t think being fashion perfect offscreen was ever Rani’s plus point.
I admire that she made an effort and lost so much weight, she is now finally looking her age. The face is back.
