In Donna Karan

It’s been a while since we saw Ms. Mukherjee on these pages and while we’re happy to see her out, can’t say the same about her look.

As you can see, the Donna Karan gown was modified to match her height but in chopping off that many inches on the skirt, a lot of the effect the gown had was lost too.

I also dislike that she chose a glittery gold clutch to finish out the look. It clashed with the sequined gown.

  1. Common P&P … let’s not penalize her for her height!!!! It’s good to see non-tall women, non-skinny women, non-fair women carry such outfits with such élan and confidence 🙂

  2. I wanted to start off by saying ‘Rani beti’ but that seems to annoy some readers, so i will say:

Rani darling, bending certain fashion rules can be edgy but breaking the gold/silver rule is a fashion disaster. If you didn’t have a glittery silver clutch you could have taken a black one or perhaps emerald green? Even a red one i would’ve let you off, but gold?!! no no no dear. Faux Pas

  3. Rani looks divine. It’s a good thing she shortened the dress, even though it meant she had to lose some of the ‘tail’, else she would be sweeping the floor. Perfect make-up, hair and jewelry too. Yep the clutch could have been different…but it’s not disastrous.

  4. Oh, you’re being hard on her! I’m not a fan of the dress anyway but it doesn’t lose too much being cut short. If all shorter women couldn’t cut here and there we wouldn’t be able to wear anything’

  5. Everything neck up was amazing and those emeralds were so appropriate for this gown. Just wish the hemline was a little longer. Other than that, this gown did exactly what she wanted it to do: accentuate her curves!
