Nice. She looks her best for Durga Pooja every year – she lets the Bengali in her shine through.

Make-up seems too ashy but I think its more the photo than her. Love the Kerala style saree.

Rani looks really good and slim in Indian clothing. In Western clothing not so much (thinking of the jeans and tanktop outfit for Being Human Fashion show).

The kasavu sari suits her. Save the OTT gold bangles, i like the look.

Less foundation and less gold would have been worked better.
I was wondering whose arm she is holding ;-)

Awesome ..a good look from her!
And those bangles .. look like real gold.. how many of those does she own??? That’s some serious gold!

A lot of South Indians of modest income have more bangles than that. :)

A kerala Saree and an almost Kerala look also. Typical Kerala brides wear more bangles than these and that too on both hands and matching heavy necklaces, to be stowed away in the locker for the rest of their lives.

Malayalee here tooo….Love thaat ‘Our’ Saree is becomng Popular in Bollywood….

Can’t believe the kasava saris which we wear for Vishu and other festive occasions have become so popular with the swish set.. great

OMG..I have the exact same sari…and I wore it for the Pooja this morning. Mine is a Maheshwari though…and looks good paired with a brocade blouse in deep gold as well.

Wore mine to vijayadashami yesterday – gold bangles, gold hoops, red teardrop bindi and same blouse exactly as the one pictured here!!!

HI P&P could you please tag me the earings ………I despiratly want to buy those for my sisters wedding………….Please

    1. Nitasha at | | Reply

Me too! LOVE the earrings!! Need to know where to buy them from.

      1. ash at | | Reply

They dont look designer or anything so are probabley not ‘by’ anyone. It looks like very traditional temple jewelery to me style -wise, and I’m sure most good indian jewelers keep similar stuff, esp. in south india.

  25. ash at | | Reply

OMG – this is too good. I agree Rani looks her best in sarees, and her jewelery is gorgeous. Those earrings are to die for and I love the gold chains and bangles, on some people it might have looked gaudy and tasteless but she pulls the whole look off.

I Love love love the sari! What kind of sari is it exactly?? I think the bangles etc just go with the traditional look! If you’ve got gold flaunt them! I’m bengali also and GOLD especially OTT ones is something we just HAVE to wear especially at religious events, weddings etc! Love it!!

    1. Malaika Nair at | | Reply

It is a Kerala Handloom saree and is called the “Kasavu Saree”

Beautiful. No body can carry sari’s quite like her. She really looks very elegant. Lot of young starlets drape it hideously, making it look awful. May be Ms. Mukherjee can give some lessons!

  32. tania at | | Reply

go girl! she looks so chic! i love the simple sari and all of her bling :)

    perfect in a sari.

i LOVE the fact that its a handloom sari. you dont get class like that in “designer” shops.

  35. shyba at | | Reply

    Kerala Sari…..Looked gr8 on Rani….

  36. Lalitha at | | Reply

I love everything about this look! The gold bangles are fine considering the sari is low on embellishment. The earrings are da bomb and I love her make-up. I look forward to one day seeing her wedding outfit, should she decide that she wants to marry. Beautiful Rani, queen of Bollywood! She has that extra zing that an Indian actress needs!
