In Raw Mango

Rani picked a hot pink Raw Mango lehenga to wear to her Diwali party pairing it with with a layered satlada necklace, maang tikka and stack of bangles on each hand.

Considering Raw Mango’s aesthetic is along the lines of “less is more“, at first glance, the jewellery felt a bit too much. Wish she’d picked a simpler maang tikka and bangles and let the necklace be the highlight. She still looked lovely though once your eyes adjusted to taking all the jewellery in.

Neha also picked the same color combo to wear to her own Diwali party but in a reverse combo. Catch it inside..

  1. Too much pink! Wish there was another subtle colour to contrast. Maybe its the lighting, but Rani’s face is lost in all the brightness of the outfit! Maang tika looks a bit excessive

  2. The reverse combo on Neha dhupia looks way better, the hot pink is just too much for the kurta. I think the raw mango cream kurta that konkona Sen wore recently

  4. Rani probably though there is too much less on her outfit and hence piled on most of her jewlery. The bangles are particularly bad. So is the mang tikka. Naah, I dont care for that necklace either.
Neha , on the other hand, looks lovely.

  6. the combination and styling on Neha is SO much better and classier looking. just goes to show that a style aesthetic is something you either have or you DON’T. her jewelry looks tacky, TBH, no matter if it cost a fortune.
Doesn’t matter how much money or how many designers Rani has at her disposal — she does not know how to put an outfit together and looks uncomfortable IRL in anything other than a saree. and she clearly won’t hire a stylist either. ends up looking shabby and tacky in most of her appearances, even with that AMAZING smile of hers. too bad.

    • Agree with each word. They have “it” in them or not. Designer western or desi, with or without stylist doesnt matter. There are a bunch who just dont have it in them to make any look, look classy. They always end up looking shabby /or unkempt. Rani has been a serial offender of piling on tasteless stuff.
