Sari Style
At the launch of book ‘Rambagh Palace’, Mumbai socialites Queenie and Madhoo were in attendance wearing saris. Like their look?
Also at the event, Sabyasachi presented a capsule collection of five limited edition saris inspired by Maharani Gayatri Devi. The picture below is the only one we have… Like what you see? We sure do.
Queenie Singh Dhody (Left) And Madhoo Shah At ‘Rambagh Palace’ Book Launch
Sabyasachi
queenie makes the saree look tacky as usual, madhoo looks great, classy saree and gorgeous neckpiece…as for the sabyasachi sarees, wow – such vintage glamour and styling, reminds me of dita von teese in a saree look you had on your pages a while back. Wish more people would dress up like this nowadays rather than the queenie look as shown above.
After such a long time I really love what Madhoo wore, unique color combo. Even Queenie and her sari looked good but she just had to ruin it with the half-boob show (not sexy but tacky)..If only Sabya created beautiful pastel chiffon saris like the Maharani wore..She was and still is a fashion icon.
+1. On all the above points.
liked what madhu is wearing after a long time!
Liked what Queenie is wearing too, but she had to ruin it with half boob show!
and love those sarees… very royal !
+1
How lovely does Madhoo look in that saree!?! She should wear Indian more often and stop spending money on Lanvins and Legers!
The Sabyasachi models are styled extremely well but the sarees are nothing to write home about. Pale, diaphanous fabrics with loads of embroidery, Parsi borders etc. Haven’t we seen those done to death by every other designer already?
I agree with all u said. Love Madhoo in that saree and love the bindi !
Also, the sarees are kinda blah netted ones though the styling is impeccable. Expected more from a collection that is inpired by Gayathri Devi.
Agree with FashionVictim about the saree collection, nothing to write home about and wud not spend a dime buying the dull sarees. Now for my grandma, yes!
Madhoo’s saree is fantastic. Love the colors with that blouse.
This is the best Madhoo has looked after Esha’s wedding. She looks her best in traditional looks, and everything is working for her here – saree, necklace, hair, make-up.
Sabya’s saris are so elegant! madhoo looks fab here too.
This is the best Madhoo has ever looked on this blog. She should freeze this moment for eternity. HA.
These essentially kitsch designer saris with repititive motifs are killing the variety and sophistication of traditional saris. Compare Madhu’s sari to a Masaba sari, the real thing is so much better.
Have to say I love Sabya’s styling and inspiration – royalty not tack! Still his saris too don’t have that heirloom quality that a classic traditional sari would.
Loving Madhoo’s sari, any idea from where is it??
Love Madhoo’s look!!! Would love to know from where we can source this?
Our India based sisters, come on… give us some clues…
Madhu’s saree is beautiful. I don’t like the necklace. It’s too jarring. Queenie still needs to learn how to drape a saree. The Sabya collection is meh…I am assuming he was not imitating Rani Gayatri’s sarees, but just the draping, pearls, etc. She wore understated, light, airy sarees and Sabya’s are quite heavy. Anyway the models are wearing fabulous jewelry.
Never seen Madhoo look this good.
sorry but i think the limited edition sarees are not very easy on the eye. overload and simply not classy as he intended. dislike.
Madhoo looks nice here.
Eeeeeeew look at queenies bag.
