Wearing Her Own
At the Bridal Asia preview, spotted designer Pratima Gaurav in a cheery yellow sari (of her own design) modeling/wearing/showcasing her friend and designer Malini Agarwalla’s accessories.
The sari on it’s own, I loved… With the accessories though, it was all a bit too costume-y and campy for me!
On an aside, how great is the big bindi? Clearly, am a fan!
P.S: You can catch a similar Pratima Gaurav sari on Priya Tanna here.

She looks beautiful…so elegant.
minus the clutch.
Like the saree colour..Fine..But what is so ‘designer’ about this..a common plain saree with gold border..You get scores like this in chennai.
Suganthi
Agreed. Its pretty but has nothing designerish except perhaps the price ! The sari is totally wasted on her. Hate the way she is displaying her ugly clutch. Would have liked the big bindi if it was one size smaller :p
I was going to ask the same thing… what is designer about this saree? It looks cheap and the colour is not soothing (reminding me of shabari mala season)
Don’t see the big deal about this look. Hate the way she’s advertising the OTT clutch which doesn’t co-ordinate with the boring saree and the armlet looks downright silly. Have seen a lot of village women who look like this…pretty? yes, spectacular? no.
Alright look. Nothing worth raving about. Don’t feel that clutch with the sari though. The golden border and blouse are a bit too shiny for my liking.
Indian beauty! Love the sari. So simple yet beautiful. The bag is nice too.
I love the yellow of the sari. If only she’d left the tacky choker and clutch at home and worn a more elegant, subtle pair of earrings, I would have loved the whole look. Agree it looks too costume-y right now
Love the ethnic clutch, the sari. Could have lost the accessories (especially the arm band and the hand/ fingers thing -what’s it called?:S)
i am hating it ! gold and yellow look good together only if the gold is used sparingly – but here the thick border plus the blingy gold blouse is just a huge turn off.
Gorgeous simple saree, it would have been enough to just wear the necklace and earrings with it. The hand jewelery and clutch are just ugly though.
Gorgeous! Just love the colour on her. Beautiful woman.
she looks lovely. I love this return to totally Indian look. Nice change. OUt of curiosity, is the bag her design, she looks like she is advertising it???
love the saree….
Forget abt the saree and the clutch! Who is the jewellry by?!?! So pretty!
sari is nice! but the clutch makes it look hideous? im surprised that malaga cud make such a horrible…agree with suganthi…whats so designer about it?? anyone can make such a saree…the big bindi doesnt go with this look, hair and sari at all
Pray tell me why is she holding the clutch that way in the last two pics…..is she advertising the clutch or what??? Tacky!
umm, pardon my ignorance, but what is there to design in the saree? Hasn’t it been around for decades?
Do you guys notice how she’s wearing those huge bangles in both wrists and then took one off .. She probably thought it was OTT. I think she should’ve take that bajubandh off too! 😉
I think the outfit/saree, the clutch, the jewellery is all too tacky. the yellow color reminds me of jaundice.. yuck, nothing designer about this look. sorry!
Did she won that clutch ? LOL .Show off………….
this should be WTHeyyy
seriously the big bindi just does not go with the saree she is wearing …..the accesories def need to go…may be just a pair of big kundan earrings would have done justice
Like it – its very dehati chic (I mean it in a nice way). And I like it that HHC mixes the usual stuff with appearances like this.
But hardly a saree to be “designed” as people up above have observed.
Eeks! That sari is downright tacky.
The saree is gorgeous . simple and elegan and very designer. Does have to be covered with work to be designer. it is the idea and the blouse is so beautiful. love the whole look.
This was a bridal promotion. so she had to show the bag and jewellery for malini – that was the idea of the promotion
Seems like a major clash – everything is competing for attention:
1. Saree
2. Saree’s border
3. The bindi
4. The necklace
5. The clutch
6. The ring and hand accessories
7. The arm accessory
I understand the need to promote them – maybe she should have worn a simpler, duller saree?
Love the look with the big bindi.
