In Spendthrift
Of the many Spendthrift dresses we’ve seen, this one I am taking a liking to perhaps because of the presence of exposed zips and the lack of overwhelming prints. As for Ms. Desai, I wish she had worn her hair differently. The half-pulled back hair is just so meh.
The Spendthrift line can be found at all Samsaara Boutiques.
P.S. Thanks Danielle for the runway pic.

i like her look… 😀
“lack of exposed zip ?” I think, the flower is made of a zip!!
Hah. Looks like I confused you. Gonna have to swap the phrases out. 🙂
what would u suggest for the hair? I have a dress with a similar neckline but dont know what to do with my hair :S any suggestions?
Either completely tied or completely down.
I like the half up look ! Full down wouldnt show all those straps unless its cut like the model’s. I dont like her shoes.
The best Spendthrift dress I have seen so far …
She never looks good to me, despite of wearing a nice dress like this. She has too much of that behen-bhabi look.
LOL! I agree with you. She has a cute face but it always feels like she is trying too hard to shed the Bani look….
so what’s wrong with looking like a sister or a SIL??
u just dont look hot!
LOL agreed 🙂 matter of fact and true!
After a looooong time, have seen her look good. Agree with your hair comment, but given the overall improvement, I would give her an A
This is a shocking ‘borrowing’ of the exposed zip motif, done last year by western designer! The zip rosette was available at Accessorize a year ago!!! Thev’ve basically just plonked it on the dress which itself is so out of tune with the rest of the collection!!! These people HAVE to stop plagiarising. It’s shocking how blatant they are about it!
And how can you show your collection with such iconic Gucci shoes!!! I mean nothing about this runway look is really theirs!
I hate how people are always jumping to accuse every second designer of plaigarism. I agree that a lot of Indian designers DO plaigarize and that is unfortunate but there is no need to project that onto EVERY Indian designer.
Actually, they ARE allowed to show their collection with other shoes and bags as long as they don’t try to pass them off as their own (lwhich they do NOT)
Also, the rosette zipper is a pretty common embellishment I’ve seen it on a lot of bags and dresses, both Indian and western. That’s like saying whoever uses a particluar motif on their dress plaigarizes
Well, Chocolate martini, the glaring truth of the matter is, that the reason Indian designers are regularly accused of plagiarising, is because that is what a lot of them do, a lot of the time! That is a simple fact, and you need only look at this subject a little bit deeper, and you will have your answer. There is no reason for people to randomly accuse designers, but when you see this happening, as an Indian living in New York, i feel insensed and embarrassed by it. As for the shoes…..i realise they are not passing them off as their own, but when you use a shoe in your show that is so iconic and recognisable, it takes away from the garment you are showing
@ gronzy: l already said that Indian designers plaigarize, I never denied it. But it isn’t reasonable or logical to justify accusing any Indian deisgner of plaigarism just because SOME of them do. Obviously, a lot of them are honest as well. Which seems to be what you are saying as well 🙂
As for the shoes, in my opinion they are not visually overwhelming, they actually compliment the dress pretty well.
if there’s an edge to the dress, she manages to round it off nicely…
Such beautiful skin,aaahh!
On the model, it looks ok. On the girl..i don’t know. The first pic, it looks alright..but in the close up, the material looks cheap along with the stitching on the ruffle thing..as well as the satin-like material on the shoulders..and a big NO for the hair. Love the shoes though.
Her shoes are from Zara.. the latest collection. I’ve seen them before.
she looks good in the 1st pic but she doesnt have the star factor..shes at best in my opinion suited to supporting roles(in films),shes just toooo sweet looking ,in fact she even looks uncomfortable in certain attire, she herself admitted it on that dance show..jhalak dikhla jaa..
oh i love the shoes though, want them bad,,,
exactly! dull and boring..
She looks gorgeous. I think the hair looks good too, so pretty:)
Errrr why is the speandthrift model on the runway wearing gucci shoes!!!!!!!only in India!!!
WThEYYY.. Match much?
What about the excessive blush usage?
I like the dress. Not too fond of the rosettes, but whatever. Prachi should really try to breathe some life into it.
Unable to get myself to like the dress . Prachi is pretty though.P&P , I think you should serioulsy let these celebrities know what you think of their style.Maybe they’ll take a tip or two and change it up
I think Prachi can do much much beter
Ooooh!!!
Pretty shoes.
Anyone know where one can get them from??
Dont care about the dress or her hair. But her skins looks AMAZING! Love 🙂
She looks gorgeous .. prachi has got sense of style and amazing elegance to carry them so well ..
i love Prachi here! She looks fab!! love the dress, shoes — and her hair too!
I cant look past that beautiful skin 🙂 I think she looks very feminine and carrys the dress with ease.
There is something about her look thats “o so television!”
I dont know if its the overly done up face, that hair or the dress by itself but something doesn’t seem right at all!
Maybe its the way she wears it thats a lil trying to hard types.. (didn’t wanna write vernacular)!
But the look definitely isin’t working for her!
luvvvv the shoes…
i lurve her face and makeup..its so fresh…
the dress is amazing.
The must have little black dress with a twist. Love prachi’s shoes more that gucci’s.
