Poorna On Femina: (Un)Covered

In a cheery, yellow cut-out Raakesh Agarvwal dress was Poorna on the cover of Femina’s latest issue. Love that color on her skin-tone. Like the cover?

  1. Well it would have looked good with her skin tone, if they had actually let us see her skin color. Hate this fair and lovely photoshopping.

    • Agreed! How silly to make her look so – let me borrow from Russell Peters here – beige! And I would say the same if they had made a fair woman look absurd with too much tan. In applying the whitening/fading option guess they over did on the dress too, since the yellow on the model looks so much more deep/striking. I usually have a grouse with her makeup – that it makes her look dull instead of playing up her striking features. Regardless, I think it’s to Poorna’s credit that she still makes it work. And personality wise too she comes across as sensible and spirited – love that!

  2. Love the dress – hate the styling. She looks like she’s stepped out of Dynasty with that big 80s hair do. She’s a sassy lady and that’s just lost here.

  3. Her looks and interview are striking. She’s so real..unlike anyoany other star in this town. Wonder why Femina didn’t use the pictures from the inside for the cover.

  4. Why did they have to bleach her to a whiteness that is almost never naturally found in Indians? (of course it must be photoshop). It doesn’t make her any more beautiful, it simply strengthens colorism. Sad.
