Golden Girl

Forget Oscars, in my opinion, the best event for seeing fabulous gowns on the red carpet is the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Yearly Costume Institute Gala. And so you can imagine why I am horribly disappointed to see Padma in this peachy/gold bustier gown. If the color wasn’t bad enough, oh-my-god at the feathers! What a letdown.

We won’t be covering the fabulous others (and there were many) but you can catch a full coverage of who-wears-what on our favorite blog Here. Move over Queenie, I think Padma just took your spot for looking worse in gold.

Update:Padma is wearing Roberto Cavalli. Thanks ‘Laveena’ for the news tip-off.

  1. Wow – that is one hot mess. Can’t believe she walked out wearing that. It’s like she took something from her night wear and tried to turn it into a formal gown.

  2. I can’t believe she wore that either, she’s usually so classy and well-dressed – she looks like a show girl her with the feathers on her chest!
On a high note – Matthew Morrison (Will Schuester) is right behind her looking rather dapper!

  3. I hate it when such gowns look crushed.. wear some other fabric.. on an aside, her boobs look bigger post baby-aso this dress and fabric is very unflattering for her figure

    • I totally disagree. Her figure looks worth a million bucks. Regardless of how bad the gown is, her boobs look great, and she looks curvy and amazing! She is owning her mommyhood, what’s wrong about that?

  4. not good, also this is what happens when one tries to get into a figure hugging outfit so soon after pregnancy. The bustier of the dress is a size too small. the dress looks TACKY. Also the front part of her hair is too flat and makes her face look longer that it is .

  5. she’s just had a baby so she probably hasn’t had the time or the inclination or the energy to get herself together fashion wise. she has such a gorgeous face that i don’t even care what she’s wearing.

I am still on the fence with Chloe as much as I love Proenza Schouler and what about Anna…the outfit was sooo her!

sigh I could discuss the MET gala….forever

  7. i dont wanna pick on her, coz she just had her baby and is not in her best shape to wear a figure hugging gown. but what i dont understand is, does she not know she just had a baby and and is not in her best shape to wear a figure hugging gown? ok, i think i just picked on her
anyways, i love her despite her fashion choices..

  8. This is such a boring and outrageous gown at the same time..this look has been repeated by Padma so many times…I guess she just wanted to show off how soon she got her figure back after the baby!

  9. dress colour is really horrible and dress shape is too much body hugging .. which at this time(after her delivery) is not doing any justice for her ..i think same dress in black colour would have saved her from so many whatheyyyyy s.. :)

  10. Poor thing looks so tired. I think she just pulled out the first thing from her closet and dragged herself to the Met gala – no time for ironing with a baby in the house. Wait a minute, she’s a rich celebrity and probably has a nanny, maid, etc., so why this dress? BTW, what’s that scar on her arm…cooking accident?

  11. It looks like she has chickens stuffed in her boobs..with the feathers and all!
Also, why wear a fabric that will crush so easily? I can understand her wanting to wear better-fitted clothes after a few months of maternity wear, but a slightly more relaxed silhouette in a darker color(say dark red or green) would have looked gorgeous.
