Remember when there was a buzz that Aishwarya would be presenting at the Oscar’s and she didn’t!

Well, that is not going to happen tonight! SRK IS presenting at the Golden Globes and did attend rehearsals too. Of course, we will be covering him and Gauri and the cast of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ right here!

  2. @pdaervo – I guess now Bollywood is ‘officially’ accepted since Hollywood made Slumdog…
Although, I am sure SRK’s fan following is greater than that of Hollywood top 10 actors combined.

  4. AHHHHH! He’s in LA! 😀

Actually a lot of guys wear scarves around their neck. Its becoming a trend now. Its very metro and some guys really pull it off.

I don’t mind SRK at the globes. I’m not a big fan, but I’ll still have proud tears in my eyes when I see him up there or when his name is called. I’m weird and sappy like that.

  5. lolz I have that same scraf too! His hair looks nice, he has become so skinny……So he’s presenting huh? that will be interesting and what Gauri will be wearing too!

  6. The scarf became quite popular last year and still is around. That pattern on SRK comes from the Arab style and they call it a Keffiyeh…

  7. SRK’s presenting because he’s in LA to shoot for Karan’s new film, so he was asked to do it. Karan and Gauri are attending with him. Hopefully Gauri won’t embarass us all by wearing another one of her hideous outfits!

  8. SRK was one of the top 50 most powerful people in the world according to NewsWeek…and he is in LA shooting for a KJo film…so it makes sense to invite him to present.

  9. He’s going to be introducing a film clip of Slumdog during the awards. Only like 10 people there will know who he is, but whatever, I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE HIM.

  10. …I guess
I’m just being grumpy over the fact that the main reason why I don’t watch Indian Awards is going to play a part in one of my favorite award ceremonies
I love SRK, really, but the award shows he hosts are downright unpleasant

  11. @Pdaevro: Hah, i got one too. Black & Purple from wet seal. Hi-five, both of us seem to shop for the same styles (Purple coat at Forver 21). 😀 I shoud so look you up when i visit LA. For shopping that is. 🙂

@Payal: Yes,It is but aint Keffiyeh white & red? I haven’t seen any on young/grown up guys. May be on those indie rock – teens not otherwise.

  19. That scarf (its called a shemagh btw) has been worn to death in the west. These were first seen on BBC correspondents..they would wear them when covering war footages in the mid east hehe.
I guess the trend is still going strong in india…

  20. About the Kuffiyah,

Someone asked about the colors, it doesn’t have to be black and white, or red and white.

Many are black checkers on other with other base colors.

And the “outrage” over it has basically died down since you see those scarves all the time everywhere. Not just in India, but in the U.S. and even in the mainstream media. Ever notice Katie Perry’s new video, one of the backup dancers has a black and white keffiyah on.

Add to that, it has become resurgent poltically over Christmas because of the Gaza situation. Which brings me to my first point, if you look at the pictures of protests, or videos of protests, you will see mostly black and white keffiyahs, but there are also red and black, purple and black, etc etc.

  21. Just to clarify.

I didn’t mean that white with colored checkers aren’t considered Keffiyahs. They are. Google the small hooplah with Meghan McCain and the Keffiyah where it’s a white and light purplish checkers.

I just meant that both styles are still considered a Keffiyah.
