Oh Hello There!

Oh Hi!

Don’t worry, you are still at the right place. Just that, things might look a wee bit different. Okay, a lot different. But change is good non? Especially when we’ve been on this ride for a whole decade. Welcome to the whole new High Heel Confidential!

We might have gotten a facelift but deep down, we are still the same. You will still see the daily fashion-centric updates you’ve come to expect. But expect more now! With additions to the team we are looking to bring you more content you can consume. Aside from the daily celebrity sightings, expect to see features, guest columns, interviews etc.

We are striving to keep the same sense of community on the blog, so you will see your comments pop up on the main page as they come in. Hello tribe! The comment policy is the same so we’ll need your help in keeping this a safe space for all. The content is more accessible and you should be able to find what you want more easily. And for that which is not your jam, passing the toast is that much easier.

There’s a calendar to keep track of all fashion-related events, tabs to access relevant content far more easily, a way to shop our picks when you choose to, and keeping up with us on Instagram is a cinch. Whew!

Having been part of this space for a whole decade, our tastes, our preferences, our likes have all evolved and changed. It’s only natural then that the blog evolves with it as well, and reflects that change. We hope you enjoy this new avatar. Some of you may need some time to warm up to it, some may take to it right away. Some of you may have complaints, some valued feedback. We welcome it all.

The last ten years have been amazing and we hope you stick with us for the coming ten. You will see more, that’s a promise. Our tribe is what made High Heel Confidential special and we thank you. We wouldn’t have lasted a whole decade without you!

Now grab you beverage of choice, sit back and enjoy the ride. Cheers to us!

P.S. A huge shoutout to Gurmeet for nudging us to to do the redesign and providing feedback constantly!

  1. Congratulations! This is a huge change, indeed.

Truth be told, I prefer the older layout. This site looks too busy, cluttered. And there are all the flashing ads and pop-ups to contend with.

    Good luck!

  2. Congratulations on the new design, it seems slick and modern.
However the flashing ads and pop-ups are a little annoying.

    • In the previous format, you could see the entire outfit without having to click anything. You had to click only if you needed to comment.
However, this format forces the reader to click on every post even to just look at the outfit. That is a lot of work especially for those with short attention spans and less patience (which is every Millenial). Could you please find a workaround for that?

      • Exactly my sentiments. old layout was so easy on the eyes, less cluttered and just a scroll away to see all the posts in one place. this new format is forcing me to click on Celeb Style –> then on each of the individual posts..

  3. This is way too complicated for such a light website and I won’t be clicking each post because it’s too much work. Please do something…

  4. I welcome change and good job on incorporating all the new features. Already a huge fans of the videos 🙂 However, am not a huge fan of all the clicking required now. Previously you could see the entire post and pictures in celeb style with ease but this new format requires you to click on each story which I personally don’t find appealing. Any chance we could go back on that feature only? I find myself picking and choosing the stories i click on now whereas previously i read all of them

  5. Congratulations on the revamp.

Same feedback as everyone else about the clutter and clicking required. Prefer to click if I want to read or comment, but I don’t want to click just to see the outfit.

  6. I get why you guys went with the said theme… But, as everyone above said the clicks just to see your view is cumbersome. I can go n check the celebrity ensembles anywhere..Its your opinions/writing is which brings me here first thing in morning. ?Going to take time to get used to it. n Happy Birthday!… cheers to many more years of you n us! ?

  7. Nooo …. you’ll caved and got onto the advertisement bandwagon. Content is reduced to 50% of the page where as the other 50% is ads!! Please do not become sell outs like the other bloggers. You’ll are successful because you’ll voice your opinions and aren’t paid for reviews.
I know change is the only constant in life (Who Moved My Cheese and all that) but I hope this change is for the better – doesn’t seem like that right now atleast.
    Best of Luck

  8. HHC was my go to place to get my celebrity fashion fix for the day. Liked your previous approach, very simple, clean n straight forward, the new layout is throwing me off, didnt browse the site today 🙁 too many sublinks. Reminded me of Pinkvilla.com

  9. I am not the type that gets agitated with change; unfortunately, the new layout is extremely cluttered; we just want to see the latest posts and now a lot of clicks are required for this. You went for ten years without things like “top posts” cluttering your home page . The new font is awesome, it would help if you eliminated a lot of other clutter.

  10. congratulatgions on the new look! very stylish
but i mi the ease of scrolling through to see all posts..it is very inconvenient to click on each post when the earlier version had much better ease of access

  11. Looks slicker, great job guys. Couple of things:

    1. Ads are drawing way too much attention. I don’t know if that is because the font size has gone down or not but my eyes are drawn to them more than to the content.
    2. I’d have thought a basic functionality everybody was looking for would be added with this UI revamp – the ability to like / upvote articles and comments 🙂

  12. congratulations . But the older layout was way better. With all the clicking required now to read a post, its just too complicated.

  13. Hi there,
I’ve been following your blog for a while now and it’s the only style blog that I open once in every day in the least. I loved the easy way wherein you can go through all the pictures by just sliding through the blog and now for each celeb/wardrobe/picture you have to click on stories which is too annoying and time consuming. Please work around this if possible!

    • Yes, me too! HHC is the site I check every day. With the new layout, I am not so sure. So many flashing ads and pop-ups and tiny fonts and tabs… Ugh, it is bad UX design!

  14. Congrats on the upgrade and fresh new look! 🙂 But TBH I agree with other commenters – it’s far too busy and manic.. and not really intuitive to navigate (took a while to click my way through to this post for instance). Been following you for years, and scrolling from post to post – starting with the most recent, was what made this blog / website super easy and enjoyable to check in with. Won’t be doing all the clicking required now though to go from post to post… 🙁

  15. its a bit confusing as a layout, can the posts be some how more centered? as is its kind of scattered, not sure which is latest, its more like a shopping portal.

  16. Preferred the minimalistic layout much more. I am pretty sure I have missed any posts in the past 8 years of so I have been following the page. Today will be different.

  17. I feel the old layout was much better, this new one is too complicated to use and makes me want to stop checking HHC whenever I’m bored. Please revert back to the old style!

  18. I won’t be frequenting this site as much. Nothing was broken that required fixing. This is a much harder site to navigate now. VERY commercial looking.

  19. Looks like you guys have decided on this format to make sure there is plenty of ad space? This is no longer an easy-to-use site. I don’t see why I need to scroll ALL the way down to see all posts. I don’t want you to curate what posts I see; I like to make my own decisions, and the earlier layout enabled that. It is now an extremely busy and unattractive site.

The odd thing is that you could have enabled the “like/unlike” feature for posts and comments, which I think was something that a lot of your audience would have appreciated. Instead of that simple fix, you chose to go for this very ad-friendly layout, without even bothering to check the voice of your audience.

  20. I agree with the comments above! I was not as much disturbed with my inlaws in the house as I am with the website layout change! Its hard to navigate and a lot of clicking! Congratulations on the fun-filled, successful 10 years!!

  22. Congrats on 10 years! That’s fabulous. I’ve been following you for all ten, however now I’m struggling with your new site layout. It’s not easy to use at all. Hope you go back to the way it was. Could go into the posts that one was interested in versus all this clicking to only be disappointed and it’s a waste of time. Sorry to sound harsh but missing the old site.

  23. this new website is awful! looks like its been made to look like a really cheap pop-up and ad filled site. the content has now completely gone and pictures are so small i cant see anything. the blog-like feel of it is lost, the content is so broken up in so many parts and theres just ads everywhere and the pictures showing the content that we come to this website to see is gone. taking this off my bookmarks bar. completely spoilt this site. whoever was hired to redo this website needs to be fired because he/she clearly has no ui/ux or design sensibilities which is odd given that this is a website that talks about fashion, but the website is now so ugly

  25. Oh no…you have decided to become ‘trendy”..Yuk.
I have been following your old blog for ages now- it was simple and easy to navigate.
This design is trendy but annoying.
Why could you not just KISS? Why try to fix something that aint broke?

  26. Congratulations on 10 years! Lot of feedback has already been provided above, but it cannot be emphasized more how difficult it is to access the content now. Especially for someone on a phone. I frequently visit HHC on my mobile device and it couldn’t be more inaccessible with the scrolling carousel up top.

  27. There is no way to go to NextPost while in a post. You have to click back and then click again on the next post.
By then its easier to Click X.

  28. I used to visit this website everyday previously as it was easy to navigate unlike a lot of other websites. Now this requires so much clicking and scrolling and is so cluttered that it’s really put me off. Please go back to the old style – everyone liked that!

  29. Nice sleek redesign. Instead of having to click on each link for it to open a different page, and then come back to the main page, to again click to read the next post, can you look at the post popping up with the details? This way I won’t have to keep coming ‘back’ to the main page to get to the next post.

  30. Don’t like the new redesign at all. There’s too much going on, navigation is a nightmare, and overall layout is to unintuitive. Agree with poster who got a Pinkvilla deja vu. Too clunky and not at all your easy sense of style P&P. Hope you go back to the old layout.

  31. Congratulations ! I have been silently following your blog from early 2008. Did you ever think it would become so popular or continue for so long? I miss your somewhat snarky but totally honest remarks from when the blog started. I almost fried my laptop a few times by when I burst out laughing and spewing coffee all over it. But you know what, now that I am decade older not sure if I would follow your blog if it still had the same tone. Kudos to you both for doing what you love and hope you don’t call it a day like redcarpetfashionawards. Not for a long time anyway!
On an aside, the new layout is just not fun.Sorry!

    • Actually, I always loved HHC because it wasn’t snarky. It felt like a honest take on styling and fashion without any element of meanness. I have always thought that P & P kept the tone classy and on point.

  33. This new layout is not great. It is too jazzy and too complicated to use. I liked the simplicity of the old layout. It felt like a personal blog and I felt connected to the folks who were doing the reviews. It felt like reading a friend’s blog.

Now it feels like I am on TMZ or a professional magazine. The reviews will not feel as personal.

  36. Congrats on the 10 years. Please please please change the layout. This is repeating the earlier feedback, but it is just not user friendly. I gave up and left midway. Could not figure out the posts and could not find the post I last read yesterday so no way to figure out what I missed. The old layout was so much more nicer and intuitive.

  38. Not a fan of this new layout and it is too taxing. Feels like I am reading a book than just glossing over the posts easily and happily as I used to do with the old layout. Can I please kill gurmeet? Hopefully you guys will change it back.

  39. Congratulations on the 10 years! Me and my friends have been ardent readers since 2008 and you form a part of our daily conversations. The new layout though makes it too difficult to browse quickly. I don’t think i want to open each post to see a look and read your opinion of things. Please please go back to the old format!

  43. I normally don’t mind minor tweaks but you guys are asking for too much. I enjoyed clicking on to the old website and following the list you provided to view who was wearing what and responding appropriately. Now I have to click a couple of times to get there . It’s really painstaking. Is HHC planning to take another direction with the new updates? I hope not.
