In Céline
At the Hello! Awards held last month, Ms. Ambani picked Céline to attend the event in. Dark lips, uncut diamond jewelry and a monogrammed Leiber minaudiere completed her look.
It made for quite the change to see her do a look like this. While she wears the gown well, few minor tweaks would’ve made it better. Would’ve preferred to see studs instead of those earrings. And while the idea of the necklace works, wish she picked something that didn’t have a dangling pendant. The minimalist gown called for more restrained styling. But that just may be our personal call.

The posture is just so wrong!
And the fit is just not meant for her body type.
or her age
I admire your restraint, but there’s just one word for this: TERRIBLE! terrible choice of designer, dress (Nita Ambani is NOT a minimalist person!), jewellery, make-up. On her this quietly stunning dress ends up looking like a long petticoat.
Now imagine (if your pupils haven’t been blighted already) a Poorna Jagannathan in this… all bones and smoulder and updo… sigh.
LONG PETTICOAT.. rofl!! i died laughing..
Long petticoat!!!!! Killing me with laughter…so true!
so unflattering!
The dress by itself is horrible regardless of whoever is wearing it.
I quite liked it on her. I think she looks classy.
I can’t imagine someone younger wearing this dress. Seems appropriate for her age.
I agree with wholeheartedly.
I agree that the dress is very appropriate, but the dress looks like a potatoe sack. I do love her jewelry, but not together.
Exactly, I dont see this dress in someone younger, and she looks actually good
this gown would work the best on a tall and slender frame. the pleats on the sides are almost lost on nita. but i like the sleek hair and dark lips on her.
It looks like a nightgown that fitting so wrong.
The red lips give it a Halloween aura.
I have no idea why you liked the look and didn’t call it WTHeyy
agree! Horrible fit, not appropriate for her body type, the jewelry does not go with the “peticoatish” gown.
have to agree with Senorita, just plain awful!
Ewwwww…..
money really cant buy you class…
I disagree, she is a very classy women.
+1
Looks like she’s playing dress up as a ghost. Ridiculous
How is this un- classy?! While it may not be great fashion- wise, at least it isn’t slit upto here, or plunging upto there!
A+ to her for trying though.
I meant class to mean dressing appropriately (with regards to the costume and your own body type). Even a Chanel stops becoming classy when paired with certain outfits – I hope a certain Ameesha Patel is listening!
She looks like royalty in her nightwear, and not in a good way. In general, she looks wannabe-ish in western outfits.
OMG those are some serious diamonds! Lucky girl!
I find her eye makeup too strong but it’s nice to see her in something different. Now… Back to those diamonds….
I’m guessing those are rosecuts and not solitares…?
looks like a hospital gown
she looks like MATRON of some european hospital for “fashionably disabled people” …….where in Ms Parmeshwar Godrej is locked up!
Ahahahahaha!!!!!
ha ha
ROFL!!! And agree this is not working at all.
ugly dres… looks like one pregnant woman dress
Looove the jewels, but not with that dress. The dress should have been tapered and shortened to just below the knees. The jewels would have probably worked then. Hair should have been tied into a chignon bun.
Terrible… This needs someone like Kangana/poorna/chitrangadha to do justice ….
This is a fashion forward dress, completely unsuited for her aesthetic..only Sonam can pull this off
it looks like maternity wear to me.
Whatever she’s done to her face, it is not working. As for the dress, rather boring. A bit more color on older women always looks good.
Imagine a Padma Lakshmi in it.
The colour works well on her, and I agree with Priyanka’s comment about stud earrings rather than the longer ones Mrs. Ambai wears here.
As an aside, that necklace could probably pay off my undergraduate education loans…and my post graduate education too. Oh my.
I looked at this pic and thought something’s wrong. Problem is when I did realise what was wrong,I don’t know where to begin. The dress or her face…
