In Balmain

Wearing an embellished Balmain mini, Niamat attended the soirée held in the capital last night. Wearing her hair back, she finished out the look with understated earrings, a Givenchy clutch, Louboutin sandals and dramatic make-up. Like what you see?

P.S: Score the Balmain mini here and a version of the Givenchy clutch here.

  1. Bhoot!

She is already light skinned anyway but even then they go for a foundation lighter than their natural skin tone. The fair skin obsession in India is past the point of ridiculous. She looks like she put white chalk on her face.

  2. that’s not dramatic make up. but horrible makeup. its such a pity that actresses/socialites get their makeup horribly wrong here. always whitewashing or cakey .

  3. If you’ll look at the second picture you all will realise it’s the flash, so it’s not her fault that the photographer didn’t consider about his lighting before snapping! Also the dress looks fabulous. It’s fierce and fabulous

    • Hell’s Bell’s no. Flash or not, the look is ghoulish. Add to that the fake eye color and it borders on WTHeyy–a category that died an untimely death when our friendly bloggers made some high fly in’ friends!

  4. i have a feeling that this comment will never be published but I will say it anyways. When you guys started this blog, you had genuine opinions on fashion. It was so refreshing to read genuine takes on peoples’s outfits not influenced by who or what that person was unlike the popular film or fashion magazines who don’t have the balls to call out a bad outfit on a famous someone. But as you have become more popular and you are networking with the who’s who of the fashion/Bollywood scene, your opinions and judgments seem to be hazed by who that person is rather than what she’s wearing. So a Niamat Bakshi with ludicrous makeup gets a free pass while a sometimes (the key word is sometimes) well dressed Divya Khosla still gets nitpicked for minute details. Granted that maybe she dresses bad 9 out of 10 times, but she doesn’t even get kuddos for that one great appearance. Even if she does, it’s so patronizing. And people like Kalyani Chawla, Natasha Poonawala, Niamat Bakshi, Sonam Kapoor etc get thumbs up sometimes for really really bad outfits. Is that because they have this already fashionable halo on their heads? I know fashion is relative but… ??!! In short your blog was like a breath of fresh air for some of us but as its popularity soars, it’s becoming another Filmfare magazine. Apologize for the long essay but had to say it out. I just want the old HHC back! It was fun, honest and oh-so-fashionable

    • Very well said. Absolutely Echo your thoughts
I miss the old HHC type as well which was so from the heart. These days, I browse teh pics more tan the content which is a pity because the content was what made me a fan of the blog to begin with….

    • I agree with what you say, especially with Natasha Poonwala.
However, on this post, they did not say this was a good look, they merely asked readers about their thoughts. Just thought I’d point that out. This lady reminds me of Queenie, so IDK why she always get a pass. Most, if not all, of her looks are atrocious.

    • I think it was sometime last year that P&P came out and said that they have “grown up” & matured as individuals. So they won’t be commenting on the ladies featured here the same way like they did in the beginning of Highheel like way back in 2007-2008. 😛

  5. Agree with Lulu(maybe not about divya khosla dressing well but the rest). Getting back to niamat(who suddenly is on HHC every week becoz she and the photographers must know hhc will feature her)this look would have worked without the hideous overdone face. And she must have read comments as no tights this time. Why havent you featured the stunning Priya Sachdev who was also at the event?

    • I have to agree with the above comments. Earlier every post had your opinion, at times even your conflicting opinions. But nowadays you just leave it as a question to your readers without any views of yours. Especially for mediocre or bad outfits by your favorites – Sonam, Neha, Kalyani etc. (and I love all of them). I think you seem to favor people whom you are connected to socially (Instagram etc). Sorry to be blunt but we love you and would like you to give a little more than identifying outfits. We want that spunk and personality back in your blog!

      • Thanks Amy! That’s another point I wanted to bring up. Of late, most of the bad/average looks by these favored people are left as question mark to the readers instead of risking an honest option from you two girls. Is it to avoid bad terms with these celebrities or drawing flak from the readers? We want your fun and fashionable take !

  6. i so agree with some of the comments above…. You guys criticize a good look for minor errors like a wrong lip color or wrong bag… and here you are ignoring the ghostly makeup and tacky dress totally. i wish you guys were more frank about your opinions
