Wearing Their Own

We are all about designers wearing their creations but we really hope this is the first and last time we ever see Ms. Lulla’s outfit (from her Spring 2010 collection) on anyone! Ever!

Thankfully, Ms. Kumar brings balance to the world with her trademark skirt/kurta outfit. Now this outfit, I don’t mind seeing again.

      • I guess that justifies it.

I wish those useless people wouldn’t do that! So we could have our feeds back and only come here when there’s something that invites extra attention… oh well.

  1. I wonder more and more how and more importantly why Neeta Lulla is a designer and beyond that why she is renowned as one of the best. This picture proves I am not all that wrong questioning her. And ten bucks on some socialite donning this absolutely, absolutely hideous outfit within the next six months after having paid my life savings for it.

    • I wondered the same thing too. Then I watched Jodhaa Akbar. Her personal outfits are quite disastorous, but I have to give this woman her due, she is the absolute queen of romantic Mughal chic.

      • That is exactly what refrains me from saying anything much, there’s such a ridiculous contradiction going n here nevertheless!

I respect so much of her work. Jodhaa Akbar as bedazzling, fantastical and the clothes made for a huge chunk of that!

Though, she clearly experiments with herself.. very badly.

And why is it not possible to reply to comments any longer, has there been an alteration in the format of the site??

  3. Not the greatest fan of the skirt/kurta and not a fan at all of it on older women. One of her saris/salwars might have been better.

IMHO, the short kurtas in fashion do no favours to Indian women who tend to be short and umm-a bit generous – in the hip department because they severely cut height and make one look dumpy. The traditional short blouse with a lehenga/sari is way better but requires a top cover. Whilst you can’t wear a waistlength kurta with jeans at least with skirts they should make it short – and fitted – enough to barely cover the waistband of the skirt. I have given up on finding such kurtas and just get mine stitched.

  4. its soo refreshing to see neeta lulla’s face for once… i mean that mop of badly cut fringes make her almost resemble sylvie? she looks quite nice with this do… only if the outfit was half as good!!!

Ritu kumar looks wrapped in her timeless style, as always!!
