One to mostly sport saris at formal events at Cannes, Nandita surprised us in her Purvi Doshi maxi. I may not like the clutch pairing but she looked really good in the white maxi. For casual events, the actor opted for outfits from Sartorial by Swati Goradia but between the two kurta looks, loved the cream and taupe look instantly.

No Cannes appearance of Ms. Das would be complete without at least one sari one but of course. Check it out inside.

  1. Only the saree look is good. The maxi look is too voluminous and the beige/taupe one is way too casual. Too much hype around her on these pages. While like “earthy” looks myself…it kinda gets boring after some times.

    • I agree, anyone who dresses in muddy coloured, cotton outfits is generally lauded on these pages. Even though I love hand looms , I feel her choices often fall short as a bit boring. Konkana is another one in the same category. However I think she is a beautiful women, who never seems to age.

  2. She’s a beauty & that dress looks so good on her. It suits her personality. I feel like she always dresses in a way that compliments her personality – indian, simplistic, hatke 🙂

  3. So much effortless elegance. Instant love. That taupe-and-cream ensemble is so smart, the red saree is bewitching and the maxi and kurta aren’t bad either. She’ll never bag giant cosmetic contracts but she comes across as intelligent, grounded and very much her own person, who will never feel the need to wear yellow or purple lipstick to trend on social media. So. Much. Respect.

  4. What a classy lovely woman! The white maxi looks so good on her; agree with you about the clutch. A dark silver potli or even a small metallic silver clutch would be my pick.
The red saree with a bun is also fabulous on her. She really doesn’t need much to look so amazing. I envy her lol.

  5. Nandita Mam ,you were sorely missed here.
    What a beautiful classy lady.
Sonam and Aishwarya should try some of these looks for a change during their interviews in Cannes might work.

  8. Love her, always pulled together. Not sure about the churidar, but the bird scarf outfit I could see on Gwynneth Paltrow. Like the maxi. and sarees … she always smashes the look.

    • Agree with each word you said Avani. She looks so simple yet so gorgeous. Nothing OTT about her. Her posing is demure yet confident. She dons least make-up but can give a run for their money to the ‘I-drowned-in-atta’ kind whitewashed ladies. Even the simplest of attires look fabulous on her just because of her inherent grace and poise. I always say smile is the best accoutrement to go with any outfit and she is the perfect example of that. Ahhh I can’t believe I wrote this much. Lol I can’t even imagine using so many adjectives for anyone else in one comment.

  10. LOVE the maxi, so beautiful and effortless, she comes out tops every year in the barrage of utterly-missed the point bollywood ladies strutting atrocious stuff on the red carpet

  13. Ahh I badly missed her appearance on these pages and lo she is back with her evergreen smile with a flurry of beautiful yet wearable clothes. Coming to the clothes, she looks lovely in the saree as always. And the kurta looks are pretty too with the cream and taupe one preferably better than the other. My fav look though is the maxi one which is so different from her usual style. One thing I would change would be the clutch with it. Otherwise I love all of her looks. She is the best Indian showcase at Cannes and otherwise. Love totally!

I like every look except the saree 😀 i guess i’m in minority here but something’s not working for me, maybe the hair.
The other looks are all quite chic. Btw, does this woman age at all?
