Nandita At Cannes 2013: ‘Jury Cinefondation’ Photocall

Comment image 48

Nandita, who is part of the short films jury, attended a photo call today introducing her and her fellow members.

The simple cheery yellow suit was a welcome respite from all the taken-a-few-hours-to-put-it-on looks we’ve seen so far. Can we all collectively agree, that this is one moment that we’ll all remember from this Cannes edition and for good reason.

So simple. So striking. So love.

  1. Seeing her on HHC is always a sight for sore eyes. Love the simplicity of the suit. Please feature Ameesha as well, she shocked the hell out of me (in a good way) 😉

  5. What a lovely woman, and what a nice colour for a sunny outdoor shoot!

And for all the people preaching about supporting Indian actresses wearing Indian attire at Cannes, if they are as effortless as Nandita, why wouldn’t we?

  8. So adorable. I love the yellow and the simplicity of the outfit. So effortless. She looks like she took 10 mins to get ready. So agree with PnP’s comment on how elaborate and overdone everyone else has been looking so far. (Think Aishwarya’s star trek hairstyle or Vidya’s elaborate pearls, earrings, matching handbag.. blah blah). I LOVE this woman!

  11. Nice but I wish we had full length photos of her in saris, esp the red one. I guess the paps don’t consider her worth the trouble – not true, she has a devoted fan base.

She always comes across as confident and reassured. I’ve never got that feeling from any of the other bollywood red carpet vaterans.

  17. This Cannes 2013 is the best for India ! Not for Amisha patel going there … 😛 kidding …
But Vidya Balan and Nandita (Our real Awesomely freaking Indian Beauties) representing us… who chose to wear what actual indian wear in their real life at different occasion ! Bravo and Proud of them .

I am also excluding Aishwarya as I have never felt she is Indian . For India , she is that unattainable beauty queen who has only wore gowns untill now.

  19. In my opinion (not that it counts) Nandita has single handedly made me so proud to be an Indian.. You don’t need designer clothes and accessories to look stunning and vivacious, she’s what I call – ethereal.. I think everyone else (few exceptions) except her has been a complete let down at Cannes. Simplicity and elegance is very hard to attain and she gets it right each time. Everyone else looks like gimmicky and ready to perform circus actions.. Its quite ridiculous the way some folks were dressed..

  20. I just luv Nanditas Das n her outfit n d color superb. She looks beautyful.Who says without make up n desiner outfit makes woman look stunning see how Nandita Das is looking i have seen almost all the pics of her n now wearing this dress she has proved she follows ‘Simplicity is the best policy’. Others Amisha, Aishwarya n other Indian women who were part of Cannes doest represent India (Vidya for some Extent) but Nandita she has proved she is the true Indian. Nandita u look stunning hats off to u. We Indians are proud of u n Thanx so much for representing the true Indian culture.
