Cover Wars

Comment image 38

They both wear the same Fall 2009 Ferragamo gown with hand gloves on their respective cover, but the similarity between Sonam and Mugdha stops right there. Sonam wears straight hair with red lips while Mugdha has more of a punk rock do. Question is, which cover do you prefer more?

  1. Hands down Sonam. I don’t like her gloves – wish she had worn a pair of what Mugdha is sporting but aside from that her hair and that shade lipstick totally wins the look for her. Mugdha’s hair looks like a hot mess and I wish they had toned up her lip color a bit.

  2. October issue of Cosmo 2009 had Deepika on the main cover with a red gown and the supplement issue of the same month was the above cover. with Sonam in a red gown

wonder why you didnt do a cover war then!! ah I get it. Cos Deepika totally rocked that cover! Of course you dont like anyone one-upping your beloved fashionista. And when Deepika is seen in something even remotelty similar to what Sonam has worn before, you fall over yourselves doing Ditto editions day in and day out..

    bias much??

    • Because Deepika and Sonam were not wearing the SAME dress, Mugdha and Sonam are. Besides, PnP did a face-off between Jaquelin Fernandes and Sonam Kapoor, where they gave it to Jackie. This whole Sonam-hating on the blog is getting a bit…silly (I mean all of the comments in general, not just this one). The fashionista label was NOT meant to be taken so seriously.

In the same vein, the unnecessary Sonam fawning is also getting quite silly, don’t you think? I can post a few prev Sonam Deepika faceoffs here, sonam on a airbrushed mag vs deepika at a film shoot. or faceoffs between the two just because deepika wore a pink dress and gladiators, but really don’t have the patience to dig into it. Moreover several of the regular old readers have pointed out this bias time and again.
And before I’m branded as a zealous deepika fan by all the zealous sonam fans, I’m not in my teens anymore for being a fan of anyone for that matter.

    • I don’t think Deepika was wearing the same Ferragamo gown so why should there have been a cover war then? She wasn’t even wearing a gown, she was wearing a short dress.

  4. I like Sonam because she looks classier. I don’t like the sagging b**b we see on Mugdha. Maybe it is a bad angle, but just doesn’t work.

  5. Sonam looks very glamorous, and I love the little tribute to Madonna by way of the gloves (or maybe I am just obsessed with last night’s epsiode of Glee!)

  6. I am not able to fathom why two different magazines will have the same designer and dress on the front page? Is there a sudden dearth of designers in tinsel town?

  7. Sonam, undoubtedly! And I’m not even a Sonam fan. I get that they’re going for 2 different looks here…but I like Sonam’s look better. Very classy and she rocks the red lipstick. I noticed that when she was on the filmfare cover. I wish I could pull off the red lipstick look. I look too made-up:(!

  8. I would like mugdha’s better if her hair accessories/feathers weren’t so ewww… it takes away from the classic look of the dress. So this time around, i have to pick sonam.

  9. there’s something just odd about both of the covers..its either they way they are posing with the gown..or the gown doesn’t work on either of them..or maybe i just don’t like the ferragamo gown..i’m not sure but something isn’t working here at all

  11. sonam fares well here….the brighter tone work a little better…mughda’s hair has too much going on…tone it down a bit and she will look good int eh darker version with her dusky skin..

  12. I’m a die-hard Sonam fan.i breathe her.
but, this one goes to Mugdha for me. There’s just a bit more going on in her covern than in Sonam’s.

  13. Mugdha’s skin tone looks so good. Now if only her hair didn’t resemble a crow’s nest, this would have been a totally different story. In summary, Sonam wins.

  14. It’s not about sonam or mugdha- essentially, the question is, which styling is better?
You could switch the girls on the magazines and the answer would remain the same (for me at least): Sonam. The andsomething magazine seems to have gotten the ‘punk romantic’ equation wrong.
