So I may very well be in the minority but I don’t like. I like the sari but I don’t like its pairing with that red blouse. I can see what she was going for but I just don’t feel it. Neck up – love her happy look – very natural.

have to agree with you. She looks great, but sort of reminds me of my neighbour dressed for Durga-pujo, albeit much hotter than my said neighbour.

sometimes too simple can also look like trying too hard to be simple eh?

Love this look! It’s the way I would wear my sarees…traditional yet the blouse gives it a contemporary twist.

Oh wow…….love that look. She looks amazing.Wish the blouse was a simple sleeveless & not a halter neck

Lovely sari…loved the ‘flowing hair, a bindi that looks like a bindi and not look like a microscopic fly stuck on her forhead, lots of bangles’ look . Is that a chunky toe-ring she is wearing?

Oh lovely….so summery,so simple…..except the little i can see of the shoes i dont like them much..the make up is right too

I had to go up and see for myself and you’re right! Can’t see them! Where are the shoes!!

And I love this look! If I ever wore a sari this is the way to go.

I love the bichhu ( toe ring)

    1. KS at | | Reply

It isn’t a bichua i think. she is wearing those ‘Khandau'(the rishi munis used to wear them remember :)) kind of shoes/slippers.Me thinks…

      1. beans at | | Reply

yes, KS, that is what it looks like to me, too.

      2. Saya at | | Reply

Yeah, it is a Khandau(or whatever the name those things munis wore). My friend from Taiwan gifted me one!

Looks like it is a traditional Bengali Cotton Tant Saree.Very Nice.

    1. Sudha at | | Reply

It could be a Tant, but also looks like a variation of the traditional Kerala ‘kasavu’ cotton saree. Not sure. As a Keralite, I can say that blouse is definitely a no-no, but only if you take the traditional sartorial view.

She stole my running sports bra!

    1. Chocolate Martini at | | Reply

The blouse looks nothing like a sports bra, actually. Personally, I find it really elegant

i like how mini paired it with sleek blouse…
just wondering would black look better?

the only thing i dont like here is the bag… BUT this is what natural sexiness is all about! cotton sari, big bindi, halter blouse….heres a woman who is comfortable and confident of her style quotient…no copying the chiffon bling brigade, no designer need for this… heres to a true Indian woman putting our roots right there on the red carpet! Go Mini Mathur Go!
