Sari Style

For her appearance at jewelry designer Roopa Vohra’s Lohri celebrations and calendar launch, Maria kept it simple in a rather striking sari. Aside from the beaded necklace, stack of colorful bangles and a graphic-print potli rounded out the look.

Maria looked lovely; wouldn’t change a thing. Love that sari!

  1. Years ago my mom had the exact same colour in a silk saree – she just got the fabric from Khadi Gramodyog and used to wear it as a saree with a contrasting off-white cardigan. It always looked lovely and photographed real well πŸ™‚

She also got a deep purple fabric and got some mukaish work on the pallu and it was gorgeous. πŸ™‚

    • sounds like my mom πŸ™‚ she used to get lengths of plain organdy fabrics for sarees and would pair them with block print or kalamkari fabric blouses before it was a trend. maria looks lovely and unique here.

    • Lol. Was about to comment the same n then saw your comment. My Mom too used to buy plain silk sarees from Gandi Ashram- ferozi, purple, mustard n were matched with varied blouses! N indeed, these sarees photographed really well. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

  2. Gorgeousness! The sari, drape, blouse, jewellery, makeup, hair and even that potli…each and everything on point. A woman can look sexy even in dignified clothing like this. In a world wide trend of flashing embarassingly low cleavage or a high slit on tge bottom which slits open till or above the waist or the stupid fashion fad of wearing ur inner wear outside…tasteful and classy clothing like this is like a breath if fresh air. I wish Maria starts her own line of clothing. She definitely has an eye and good taste.
