In Sabyasachi

December 9th, 2009 at 3:45 pm . by Payal

For the life of me, I can’t figure out why would anyone(!!!) pick cowboy-style shoes to go with this outfit! An automatic WTHeyyy!!!

(Who would have thought we’d have a Sabya appearance and it would be tagged a ‘WTheyyy’.)

Turns out Ms. Koirala had worn this before and even thought we couldn’t find a full-length, just her make-up was so much better at the previous appearance. Thanks ‘nyc girl’ for the tip-off.

OMG, what was she thinking? She looks like a witch *shudder*

  4. shruti says:

Hey give her some credit, she may have dressed as a witch for Halloween

  5. Aqua says:

Maybe she thought she was making a style statement… she should have saved experimentation for India.. what wil ppl in Dubai think of Indian fashion after seeing this..I shudder ..

  6. Bee says:

What a pretty woman and look what she does to herself !!!

  7. charan says:

I usually take the WTHeyy with a pinch of salt… but this one really shocked me!!

  8. Jasmine says:

I think I just shed a tear! Omg…this is just too sad, some people can’t afford Sabya’s clothes and the ones who afford them, they totally destroy them!

  9. fashionmaniac says:

from ILU ILU to ULLU ULLU…

  10. MojitoLover says:

What a gorgeous woman. Now Frodo wants his shoes back.

  11. S.M says:

pity – she actually looked nice!

  12. Amy says:

Sure is a big WTHeyyy…..those shoes are hideous ………..pair them with a Indian outfit…..they just look as hideous as they possibly could!!!!

  13. T says:

i feel like a dagger has been pushed thru my heart. how can some one do this to a sabby creation :( ….my heart bleeds silently

  14. TumHum says:

LOL!!!…what a nice outfit…what horrible shoes….how can anyone in their right mind…esp an actress can DO THAT??? Not even Mallika Sherawat can do that…..

  15. ks says:

I am curious to know sabyasachi’s reaction!
Btw is velvet the ‘in’ thing coz if it is some one please push it out!

    • Anu says:

Yes, unfortunately it is. It has been in for at least the past 6 months from what I can tell. Most top designers are using it, and all the upscalle stores are stocking up big time on it.

(And I’m sure you would hate to hear this… as did I…this stuff is flying off the shelves!)

      • Anu says:

        upscale, I meant.

To continue, I CAN’T WAIT for velvet fever to pass!!!!

        • Tongue in Chic says:

Me too! Reminds me of smoking-room curtains at an old musty Gymkhana. *shudder*

          • koel says:

            I agree !

I think velvet should be reserved for the curtains !

          • KS says:

After letting this stuff fly are they still upscale stores? :). It is a shame how the soclalites and celebrities just give in to fashion at times.

smoking room curtians..how can you even remember such stuff ..Hilarious!

  16. a says:

her face looks lovely, she has returned to her old self.

  17. Monkey says:

I’m intrigued with Sabyasachi – all he needs are 3 colours: black, red, and white and he comes up with such pretty designs.

  18. Anu says:

Can someone tell me what is so good about this dress. It’s a done-to-death-anarkali, and that too very ill fitting.
NO silhouette to praise here. The only good thing on the dress is on the arms, and the dupatta.

Come on, why should we simply let this one go just coz it’s a Sabya? It is a MAJOR fashion disaster even if you ignore the shoes.

    • kish says:

Exactly my thoughts! The velvet looks horrendous.

    • Ann says:

Agree with Anu…Do not like the anarkali much…the design on it is fab!!! but the all velvet look is bad!! Would have loved it had it been little or no velvet.

I have nothing to say about the footwear…if you can call these so….they are actually ugly even for a western look!!!! Just need to know what dire situation prompted her to buy those shoes and then pair them with an anarkali!!!!!!

    • S says:

      I second that.

    • beans says:

rightly said Anu… when designers like manish malhotra & co use velvet, it is called atrocious… so, how is this different? this one looks nice (colour combo especially) from afar.. up close, it looks as tacky as the MM creations we have been seeing of late.. as for Manisha, what a waste of a pretty face!

    • Saya says:

True that. The anarkali is like a cross breed between ManishM and Sabya. Sadly, not in a good way.The velvet part ruined it for me.

      • HHC Fan says:

Yeah the velvet kills it for me. Otherwise it’s pretty. I don’t want to talk abt her shoes…lol…I am waiting for the velvet phase and the 80s phase in western wear to go!

      • SK says:

its actually quite a oretty anarkali… but manisha is wearing it so badly!!! the dupatta is so grossly drapped… and the footwear dosent help!
worn differently…this dress would be quite lovely.

  19. hana says:

what happen to her hair? looks like accidentially happened something to her hair. I like the suit… any black sandal’d ve saved her from WHTHEYY.

  20. Rezia says:

They should have something in the Indian Penal Code about ruining gorgeous traditional clothes this way. I feel traumatized just looking at this.

  21. Amber says:

Minus the shoes, and noting her appearances in the past few years, she actually looks PRETTY here and the outfit is beautiful. She seems to have lost weight, has nice hair and makeup is done right. So I’ll gleefully wont glance past those anarkali hems because I would like to give her some credit!

  22. V says:

Good Gosh! Those shoes with that dress and that too in Dubai!

  23. Fashionluvver says:

I read somewhere that she is getting married soon. Move over Shilpa shetty.. now that’s a wedding I don’t want to miss :)

  24. Sona says:

    Dies of horror!!

  25. nyc girl says:

trust me, i saw her in person at this event. the picture actually makes her look much better!! she looked horrible there with messy hair, oversized sunglasses to cover her face. and she def did not do justice to this sabyasachi number.

  26. Probster says:

Its painful to watch such a pretty woman do this to herself….. why would she deliberately want to ruin the whole thing with that shoes…. sucks.

  27. Ann says:

I think we should request P&P to stop posting pics of some of these actors..the reason being all my admiration for their good looks and work is reducing every time I come across a pic of theirs..I seriously love and like them..and would like to keep things that way…

If I had my way..I would suggest to start with Raveena, Amisha and Manisha!!!

    Any other suggestions???

  28. S says:

    Where’s her broom?

  29. Ana says:

Isnt the sleeve detail like a blouse once Vidya Balan wore?

  30. _*Dia*_ says:

when i saw the heading “In Sabya”, i was so excited, only to find out it was really a Wtheyy!!! what was she thinking? why do this to such a pretty anarkali? gggrrrrrrr

  31. Saya says:

She looks pretty in the second pic, since the velvet overdose is well hidden.

  32. viz says:

man!! it must take some talent to ruin such a simple look..and manisha definitely seems to possess it.

  33. Indian Girl says:

LOL ! Those are some horrendous shoes. But those are not Cowboy Boots !!!! Cowboys / Cowgirls don’t wear that kinda stuff. This is some ridiculous stuff . Yee-Haw !

  34. Roni says:

Hand her a broom …she’s wearing Witch boots…

tsk tsk…what a way to ruin a beautiful outfit….Sabyasachi must be seriously cringing !!!

  35. tania says:

what a shame – such a beautiful ensemble ruined by ugly shoes!! oh, some people do not deserve sabyasachi when they treat it like this!!!

  36. Kiwi says:

I HATE velevt-only the dupatta is nice, the whole outfit is horendous.. not just because of the shoes

  37. AM says:

Sabyasachi is getting over exposed and tired – at least when I come to this site it’s like yawn, another similar looking outfit – who cares who is wearing it.

And whatever happened to the pretty girl (and pretty clothes) of 1942: A Love Story?

    • ks says:

Its coz it is all from one collection.

    • Drake says:

I guess she’s still busy promoting the film ( 1942: A love story) and hence the “style statement” of that era!
Anyways, the teaming up is so bad that I want to either throw her shoes away or rip of her clothes! Man, Manisha you’ll do great the latter way I guess :P

  38. shyba says:

I think Sabya should give some dressing tips with his each outfit, wat kind of jwelery and other acessries can use..otherwise …..

what a pathetic state of such beautiful creation…

  39. Shweta says:

looks like she forgot to pack her other footwear and ended up wearing these lol otherwise why on earth a person with a sane mind opt for these!!

  40. lively says:

It hurts me everytime I see her pictures. Such a waste of natural beauty. I hope even Vidya is listening

  41. elke says:

Is it me or is one of her eyebrows higher than the other….oops…threading disaster?

  42. Saira says:

    SO many wrongs..
    * What’s going on with the cleavage? It makes her boobs look humongous, and looks tacky
    * The dupatta looks awful draped like that. It would have looked so much better if it was neatly draped on one of her shoulders..
    * The makeup. :O As a beauty therapist, I am outraged by it. Can’t believe nobody has picked up on it!! She is SO pretty, and her face doesn;t suit heavy makeup. The eyeshadow is too dark, and her blusher is not for her skin tone.
    * The shoes :O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  43. tresliso says:

I think the eye make up make her look surprised.
Imagine, the poor poor people at the event who had to look at her all evening.

  44. tresliso says:

I think the eye make up is making her look surprised.
Imagine, the poor poor people at the event who had to look at her all evening.

  45. Persis says:

love the dress! love her make-up….just wish she would have worn the dupatta in a better way though…and yea those shoes are definitely what the heyyyy!
