Shimmer And Shine?

It’s uncanny how much Mallika reminds me of Freida from the same event last year (see here). Both wore shimmery dresses with metallic sandals but while Freida went for a one-shouldered dress with pumps, Mallika goes for a strapless dress with Choo strappy sandals.

I thought Ms. Sherawat looked quite va-va-voom and considering the awards show is a cocktail reception, the dress was perfect for the occasion. My only gripe are the metallic shoes. I wish she had gone with plain black strappy sandals.

  1. QUESTION – Why is she being photographed all over LA and now at an award show? What’s she doing in Holllywood? Haven’t seen any signs of movies/shows with her in them…

        • Dont know how she managed to go everywhere she likes. I think she is going to stay there and possibly we may see a hollywood star from India

        • you’d have to scream plagiarism to all high street stores like mango, zara, river island.
c&k do not claim to be a designer label, like our indian designer labels who claim to be exclusive.

          • Charles and Keith was set up by 2 Singaporeans.

And you are right, they never called it a designer label.

When you sell footwear at very affordable prices, you tend to replicate pricey designer pieces and this may not be actually due to a lack of ideas. I wouldn’t consider this plagiarism.

          • most Indian designers sell at way, way lower prices than their western counterparts, a lot of them would be on par with the western highstreet prices.

How is plaigarism ever not due to a lack of ideas? Creativity has nothing to do with money

          • plus a lot of Indian designers dont claim to do couture, just pret. I dont think either c&k or plaigarizing Indian designers are justified.

          • Also, I dont udnerstand how the fact that its a high street label justifies plaigarism. The point is they are ripping a design off and not giving credit where credit is due.

If you are trying to justify it ont he bais of lower price range/ different target customers, the same (flawed) logic applies to Indian designers as well

  3. OMG her body looks amazing in this dress.
This has got to be my favourite dress she’s worn!!!
This is the perfect example of looking sexy & chic rather than sexy borderline tacky (sorry but sometimes the super short & cleavage bearing dresses she wears scream that title)
