Wearing Turquoise & Gold, Malaika attended the label’s flagship store launch. A high ponytail, chunky cocktail rings, big earrings and red pumps finished out her look. Like?

  1. Ugh, those shorts are awful with the strange pleats and overlaps. The belly-baring top just looks like she’s trying too hard to look like a 20-year-old.

  2. It might be the way the photos are taken, but she seems to be tapering downwards – i.e. ; very top heavy – she could have chosen a stronger shoe, like a heavy wedge, to balance out the look. I like the red shoes by themselves, but the shorts are a special kind of tacky. Malaika always seem to be giving off this wanna-be-younger vibe, and not in a classy kind of way.

  3. Ewwwwww….it doesn’t have to be always this way. Malaika might think she is playing super cool yummy mummy types, but in reality the moment u look at her pics in ultra short dresses it makes you cringe. In common world we cannot wear such a thing and step out. ( At least in India)

  4. Too forced and contrived for me. I am all for looking your best at any age/body type; however, when a 40+ tries too hard to look half her age, well then it just doesn’t look graceful.

  5. Too much going on with the hair, the earrings and the shoes!!! Should have kind of kept it simpler…and the shorts look ill fitting!

  6. She is too overt about flaunting her assets most of the time i feel. She has got it but does go overboard in flauting it.

But its her choice after all what she chooses to wear and i respect that. I dont think i can agree when some people say its age inappropriate as i feel age is just a number and people should not be expected to wear certain types of clothes just because they are in their forties. Society should not have such restrictions on people. We should not contribute towards making such norms. Well i dont know if i am right but this is how i feel.

    • +100. I don’t get whats all this catty attitude about ‘trying to look half her age’, age inaapropriate etc. Just because someone can’t get out dressed this way in india, does not mean no one should. the only thing id say, is that the shorts are ill-fitting, the pose is terrible and the proportions are off. But I don;t see why she can’t wear shorts or crop tops as such. She look fit!

  7. I think I get the venom directed towards this lady with regards to her ‘tackiness’. Its not so much the clothes she wears but her posture. Boobs and butt jutting out , always. Its like neck down her body has hit rigor mortis.

Those shorts are ridiculous and look transparent in the back. Hopefully she isnt wearing red polka dotted panties.

  8. I don’t have any problem with the length or the style of her clothes or the age appropriateness (or not) of them, but these pictures aren’t one bit flattering. The first picture looks like the shorts are bunched up in her crack and she’s trying to get them out not very subtly.

Also her legs look too skinny. She need to wear something longer or as someone above suggested a pair of wedges to balance things out.
