Madhuri on Filmfare:(Un)Covered

Comment image 39

Back in Jan, we had seen that Madhuri was doing a photoshoot for Filmfare wearing a Narendra Kumar gown. Here is the cover and rest of the editorial showcasing Mads wearing a few Shantanu-Nikhil gowns too.

Don’t know about you, but except for the red gown, am not quite feeling the voluminous gowns. They seem to overwhelm Ms. Dixit and the hair is way too 90s. Your thoughts?

Thanks “manan3230” for the images.

    • what an amazing woman and what ugly clothes.
I’d say she can take on any other high fashion magazine with that mug *sigh

  1. The cover is very nice – although arms have been photoshopped, why can’t women be their normal size?

Love the last two photos. Glam on left and pretty on right.

About the hair, it is her trademark style. It seems so 90s because she was that big in the 90s. If she were big in the 2000s, it would have looked so 2000s.

  2. Where is Madhuri and who is the wax model they have replaced her with? Please! Photoshop is intended to enhance a person natural looks, not make them look like a stepford wife! And Madhuri petite frame is engulfed in these clothes and agree with you guys styling is so dated!

  3. P&P, I dont agree. I think this shoot is gorgeous and a very different look for Madhuri. Especially loving the last pic in the pink-purple gown.

    • Agreed. Madhuri is so b-ful that only her face counts, rest all melts away in the backgrd. In fact I dont even mind the gowns , they are okay. The reason they look off is Madhuri is traditionally b-ful and these gowns are more couture.

  4. Yayyy to photoshop! For doing full justice to Madhuri….can’t help but notice it did help shave off years and lbs off her face and frame….but no complaints here….

Dress? what dress? Can’t see anything beyond her sweet face…:))

  6. I dont think your comments are fair. The hairstyle, gowns and makeup look exquisite and Madhuri looks stunning. Compare this cover with the gibberish ones we have seen the last few days.

  9. I kinda love all the pictures. The clothes are editorial-worthy, and the shoot has a lovely fairy-tale vibe. I think Madhuri, despite being such a petite woman, looks statuesqye, and boy can she give good face! 🙂
Also, I find the “photoshop” refrain rather annoying. Glamor photography existed before photoshop, you know, and angles, lighting and makeup have been used for years and years to make people look younger/better/different. The pictures might/might not be photoshopped, but the conviction with which people proclaim that every shot in a magazine is doctored is tiring; even we mere mortals look different from picture to picture on our facebook profiles. It isn’t as if actresses before the age of digital trickery looked as flawless in real life all the time as they did in pictures; costuming, lighitng and makeup can do wonders.

    • its not abt “being flawless” its about selling wrong body image..”fair and thin” to be precise…that too to vulnerable young women … that is why people find photoshopping morally degrading!

      • “Photoshopping is okay” was definitely not the gist of my comment; the ridiculousness of calling “photoshop” on every image was.

  10. Madhuri is madhuri…..photoshop or not she is the most beautiful and gorgeous woman ive seen……whther she had hideous clothes in her movies she stil looked gorgeous and someone has said…..wht clothes her face is enough…….

  11. If you see all the ‘natural’ previous pictures, her arms her waist are not this slim. She is virtually looking 28 in these images and that cant be achieved with costuming, makeup and angles. Sure you can hide a lot of flaw with lighting and volume can actually dwarf the size for anyone…but to this extent?

  12. ahhh….she is looking stunning in all the picx…..the gowns are beautiful except for the red one…we cant even see it fully. i love the hair…make up….poses….everything…its soo perfect and of course her million dollar smile does all it takes.

  13. sad that she talks about wanting to be fit and presentable and then gets herself photoshopped to half her size….stars and their insecurities… otherwise she’s looking pretty and i <3 all the gowns…esp the black and white one…

  14. i think even now these hairstyles are sported by many actresses but when Madhuri is doing them they look 90’s because she was a heroine in 90’s.

i like the red one – her hairstyle & expressions r nice.
in the cover page she kind of looks dull.
i dont like the black one.

  15. i am not a big madhuri fan, so her smile does nothing for me. the photoshoot is tepid at best. The gowns (if they can be called that) are so weird, why would she agree to wear them??? the hair is not too different from how she regularly wears it…
the stylist and the photographer are at fault. can’t filmfare afford better?
