Fitted Vs Flared

I was in doubts whether the anarkali seen on Madhuri was a Sabyasachi or not. While the velvet and mixture of patterns are very Sabya, the gold patti along the skirt is what threw us off. (Update: It is a Sabya. Thanks for the confirmation everyone.)

No doubts about the fitted churidaar suit though. That was a trademark Sabya and we’ve got to say, the fitted silhouette looks so much better on her! Which look do you prefer?

  1. Its a difficult question keeping in mind that It is Madhuri we are talking about. In the fitted one, she looks slim. she isn’t fat anyway/ also the colour combo in the 1st salwar is lovely. the pink stands out.. she looks darn pretty.
In the anarkali, I find her prettier. umm…. I’m confused 🙁

As Rashmi said, this woman looks flawless regardless of what she wears. Love her. She is the most beautiful woman in the world for me.

  2. This is a perfect example of “clothes do not maketh madhuri, it is she who makes the clothes”. I was watching Jhalak Dikhla Jaa the other day and realized how pathetic Malaika looks infront of Madhuri. With all her skimpy designer clothes, she still cannot match up to the poise and elegance of Madhuri

  3. such horrible garments!!
that pink thing is so gaudy!!! its only madhuri’s face that’s salvaging it….

as for the anarkali’, its sure to turn heads …people would be interested in counting the number of colors in that!! purple, green red, gold, black and what not!!

  4. So pretty. Like both the outfits. Don’t care whether the anarkali is Sabya – she is wearing it beautifully, the video is proof of it. She actually looks so much more fresh and younger than Rani and Vidya in the video even though she is more than 10 years older.

I want the fitted one for myself as well :))

  5. At Jhalak Dikhla Ja, While Malaika sticks to Vikram Phadnis ensemble, Madhuri’s wardrobe courtesy is from Sabyasachi. & yes, both the suits are from Sabyasachi… 100% sure !!

  6. She’s SO beautiful. She looked so much younger than Rani when Rani came on the show.
BTW her anarkali is a Sabyasachi.
It was writter underneath that “Madhuri’s Outfit: Sabyasachi” when this episode aired. Hope this clears things up 😀

  9. Now Sabya has another muse after Rani & Vidya, or should we say Madhuri will ‘stalk’ Sabya now onwards…
No matter what Madhuri is one of the most graceful dancers ever.

  10. I must be the only one who thinks the anarkali makes her look matronly. The fitted churidaar suit is simple and she looks so young and slim in that. But no way does she look close to Rani’s age, Rani was looking hot in the black sari! Poor Vidya looked 10 years older, although she and Rani are about the same age.

  11. I think its time to retire the anarkali style… overdose of anarkali by everyone! I am glad Madhuri wore anything other than anarkali and hopefully that will bring back a different style.
    Go away… anarkali… go away!

  12. the fitted one looks awesome plus it is something different. the anarkali i like because it is kind of grand and not the typical earthy boring sabya. in fact it almost looks like a cross between sabya and MM!
