Love Kirron’s style… Slightly OTT at times but almost always stays true to her own style aesthetic and gives us look after look that’s elegant and classic with a distinct stamp of her own!

  1. Surbhi, Re the batwas (jholas as u called them), the neigborhood darzis are usually adept at making them to match your salwar/blouse etc. My hip cousins in India do this all the time, they have a cell-phone holder,a little batwa etc to match each dressy outfit..

  2. Kiran looks great and dresses age-appropriate as well instead of trying to squeeze into the latest designer gown under a girdle as many of hte women in her age group are wont to do..

  3. all three saris are gorgeous. i think kirron’s awesome. she’s elegant and clever and she doesn’t shove her intelligence down other people’s throats like shoba de.

  5. love her age appropriate dressing and distinct elegant style! don’t like the pallu length though.. it sweeps the floor! and in the third picture, even the length of her saree is a bit too long. the pleats kind of pile on the bottom

  6. If Shah Rukh wears trousers made in India do we call them his PATLOON? Why are we always calling Kiran’s purses BATUAs? Batua is the Hindi word for purse, thankyouverymuch. I don’t see why we have to use the Hindi word in the middle of an English sentence when it doesn’t add anything to the meaning/context. That’s like saying you like her BAAL-do.
If you want to distinguish it from other “regular” purses, sure, go ahead and call it a potli, which is what it is. Do a Google image search to convince yourself. And while you’re at it, please also search JHOLA, which is an entirely different kind of bag.

I remember as a kid I once watched her on Karan Thapar show (I hope I got it right) where she had then said that she has over 3000 sarees! Enough for each day of 10 years !
