Kareena on Vogue India:(Un)Covered

While the Dec cover of Vogue India (featuring Kareena again) looks good in the way Vogue covers have come to be (make what you will of that), we can’t help being irked by the constant appearance of the same dress on multiple people.

P.S. Catch the same Monisha dress on Katrina/Deepika here, a Versace on Kajol/Katrina here and another Dior dress on Shilpa/Twinkle here.

  1. Though Kareena looks absolutely stunning on the cover..love her jewelery too…but I’ll pic Priyanka (she looks nice..but could’ve worn some jewelery along) for the simple reason that Kareena’s Cover pic is too photo shopped.

  2. The cover is pretty enough. But Vogue India doesn’t take the fashion risks that is expected of Vogue – indeed, its Bollywood-centric covers make it comparable to Filmfare covers. Would Vogue US ever be compared to People? Live up to your name, Vogue.

  3. She looks lovely 🙂
BUT Vogue India really needs to step up. How many times will they feature the same Kareena,Katrina,Deepika, etc, etc. It’s SO boring. The content in the mag is just as boring. Elle India is doing a much better job….their team is a lot more creative.

  4. How come Vogue India is so obsessed with Bollywood celebs? :s It confuses me. Do they not have supermodels? I thought Vogue was a high fashion mag. It looks like any other movie gossip mag to me 😐

I do like this look on Kareena though. The hair looks fab, as does the eye makeup.

    • Actually, even Vogue US repeatedly uses celebs on its covers, often the same ones (Nicole Kidman, Sienna Miller, etc.) Furthermore, the covers are, on occasion, less high-fashion than the Vogue India ones, since Vogue US covers often go for close up shots, leaving out most of the dress in the process.
That being said, I think this is a splendid cover – the tribal/gothic aesthetic works brilliantly, and Kareena, while not a fashion trailblazer by any means, is stunning enough and possesses enough je ne sais quoi to make this and most of her other covers lust-worthy – unlike Priyanka Chopra who, despite her looks and bod, often ends up looking bleh. Case in point the above picture: how did the woman manage to make a Dior look so ordinary?

  5. Kareena looks goregous! However, I am sure the fashion and film industry in India has plenty of girls that can be used on the cover of Vogue; they are becoming boring!
