On The Runway

In a tiered sequin cream gown, Kareena closed out Manish Malhotra’s grand finale show of the Winter/Festive 2011 edition of Lakme Fashion Week.

Neck up, we think she looked lovely. Neck down, though, was a different story. We weren’t fans of the odd space-y lookin’ gown. A traditional look would’ve worked better on her.

Is it us or have you noticed that we always are fawning over Manish when it is a simpler look. Case in point, Sonam in the blue sari, Preity in the blue suit and Kareena from Filmfare.

  1. Hate the dress. It would have been perfect if she was going to a Disney Princess themed birthday party for a 5 year old, but for the runway UBER gross. Kareena however looks stunning. Perfection personified.

  2. Yikes…this is supposed to be the grand finale?? These is nothing remotely festive about this look. And am not really surprised that his show was a let down…nothing really stood out

  3. RIGHT – Kareena wears a designer’s dress and gets flak, whereas Deepika wears innerwear (the kind they sell as shapewear in the lingerie dept) and she gets applause ??? I’m starting to get a feel of our eminent critics here, as well, as P&P

  4. Kudos to Kareena for looking gorge despite the atrociously ugly dress! With all due respect, MM is really lucky to have so many celebrity friends who wear whatever is given to them!

  5. hate the dress but can’t ignore how beautiful her face looks with the perefect locks cascading down the shoulders.
Nota Bene: Not a Kareena fan though 😉

  6. Down right tacky!! MM is sooooo overrated!! Even the simpler version like Sonam’s saree is really nothing special as far as MM’s role is involved, the glamor is actually added by the jewels and how she wears it. I really don’t get it why celebrities wear his clothes, like why would Kareena agree to wear this fugly dress..

  7. Used to love MM, but over the past couple of years it seems like he is designing for movies from the early 80s…everything looks like a bad costume!
