I think she looks great and is she is smiling and not fake posing – which is refreshing. Also, this sari is totally appropriate, why wouldn’t it be? I think I want it for myself now. My only issue is with the hair. Not too flattering

A very bad look. That hair parting is not working on her.

this time it hasn’t worked for her

she is trying so hard to suck-in her tummy!! dont like the draping of the saree(or watever this is) at all…

Not a fan of Kareena, but she looks very graceful and lovely! Agree on the clutch and the earrings could have been skipped. But only minor gripes.

    a. I feel like Tanya Ghavri is using Bebo to market her indian designer friends, which is fine but everytime she picks creations from our backyard designers, they never seem to flatter Bebo.
    b. This look, this drape, the high neck, none of it is suited for Kareena Kapoor’s body structure. Its all just wrong. May want to take a crash course in dress for your Shape Ms. Ghavri
    c. I prefer Kareena’s personal effortless chic style rather than turning her into a Sonam Kapoor
    d. This look screams Karisma Kapoor

This! a million times this! the only reason the designer makes someone look good is in Sonam’s case for which the actress deserves partial credit. Every body else just looks so generic and cringe worthy. All beautiful women, such inappropriate styling :(

aarrghhh……….why spoil such a flawless face with such a bad hairstyle..?? and a saree would have been a better pick for such an event rather than this saree like thing with front slit n all.

Bad move kareena. Not happening for you. Sad:(

I love that Kareena wears everything, whether it suits her shale or not. It’s clear she doesn’t give a damn about supposed fashion rules, which I think is refreshing. However, Jyoti, I completely agree. The hair is atrocious. Overall I don’t think this is a look that suits her. PrincessRuchi, I too prefer her own effortless personal relaxed style.

whats up with that slit and the awkward drape?

Is she wearing a sari without a petticoat the new thing? Eeks! Otherwise I actually liked the blouse and hairstyle. With a regular sari worn above the navel and with a petticoat, this would have been a really elegant look.

      totally agree with you there.

Whatever she is wearing (Saree look alike dress), does not look appropriate for a luncheon with Valérie Trierweiler. Why do Indians insist on wearing zari all the time, even for a lunch event with the former first Lady of France!

I dont think it’s a bad idea to wear a saree. It defines an Indian woman. Its a sofisticated outfit and there are many ways to wear it. You can look formal, casual, sensual or bad in case of Kareena.

Because she’s Kareena she will make anything work. That in itself doesn’t justify the look at all. Don’t like the odd drape of the sari.

The outfit is not really coming together. Fit of the blouse and the drape is awkward. I do like the fact that she went for subtle makeup. And yes I agree, though not explicitly mentioned in your post, if you look around for what this event really is about, I feel this outfit is somewhat inappropriate.

Kareena looks stunning and i think i would have loved this look even more if she tried to be less sexy with it – normal drape, no slit, no boob show – even though it is a statement blouse and doesnt look vulgar – it does take away from the elegance of the saree.

The first pic is just ewww. It looks like veshti — what Tamil men wear. LOL.

Err. Veshti is worn by All south indian men- Tamil, Malayalis & Telugu people.

This outfit looks good on her but don’t like the hair or the earrings. More importantly this for a luncheon..with the first lady of France? Wasn’t understated elegance the way to go?

Um. Former first lady of France!

All the pieces, separately are actually rather nice; put together the whole ensemble comes out looking rather hodgepodge. Something in line with Kareena Kapoor’s personal style would have actually made for an even appropriate look. This one would have worked with the accessories and hair kept simple, in which case the saree or the outfit would have been the main attraction.

    I think she looks hideous!

The blouse and hair are fine but what’s this sari minus petticoat trend. Ew! I hope this dies a quick death.

Lo and behold, the latest to hit the Indian fashion shores- the “Dhoti Saree”! :D
That said, I don’t mind a thing about this look barring the clutch. I especially don’t get the hairstyle-bashers; she seems to be carrying off the side parting, pony-tailed look just fine to me.

I normally love Tanya Ghavri picks but this doesn’t suit Kareena AT ALL. She looks visibly uncomfortable and is totally sucking in her stomach. I also completely dislike the way she draped it and the hair is too tight also. Overall, it’s just a bad look!

Unfortunately I saw the back and front pics of this messy, petticoatless drape and it only looks good because it’s Kareena. Hair is a failure. Shame cos this girl gets it right 99.9% of the time.

Horrendous look, not to mention…an absolute insult to the saree (that is if that is what the designer is trying to emulate with this look!) God awful, next please and hurry!

the saree is yuck! the drape – the pallu, pleats, sitting so low on the waist, the slit -everythig is baaaad.
I dont mind the hairstyle or earrings as much as the sari, a simple mono colored chifon sari would have looked nice with that blouse. Moreover how could she wear this for a lunch with former first lady of france.

i’m not a fan of kareena kapoor..never have been..but i somehow think she looks nice here..the blouse is awesome..and it needed a simple sari to show it off!! the sari, though worn low on the waist shows off her great body..she seems to have lost some weight. i love her hair too..earrings are also nice..clutch is neither doing anything nor taking away from d look
