We had another sari sighting on the red carpet today at the screening of ‘Dheepan’ where leading lady Kalieaswari was seen in a traditional blue one. The sari look was lovely but the gold cuff felt a bit excessive and a bit distracting.
Earlier in the day at the photocall, she sported a super chic look in a black dress, black booties and an edgy wavy hairdo. The two completely different looks almost made me wonder, if it was in fact the same person at both events.
P.S. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe this is her first movie.

Who is this? That photocall look was smashing! Nice.
That cuff kills the simplicity charm of the sari but the black dress look is cute.
She is very pretty.I wish she had worn better makeup.
The black dress is rocking!!
She is gorgeous and I love both the outfits. It would have been perfect if she had skipped the cuff. I am so going to pick blue for my next silk saree purchAse
Ewww, that cuff looks like she has her arm in a plaster painted over by friends!
Oh wow. She’s looks bab’in the black attire.
Jacques Audiard made this movie. Thank God Bollywood and Hollywood didn’t , can just imagine the wrong casting if they had.
Lady looks good in both looks. Bangles would have been better than cuff.
Lol. Can’t agree more. Though Kollywood directors are capable of making such movies, the issue is censorship-banning and such movies never see the light of day.
Agree. Kollywood makes intelligent and real films sometimes.
Love both her looks! Styling is on point..
Wow she looks awesome in both. But ya the saree look would have been nicer with single thick bangle instead of the cuff.
Btw, i saw some more pictures of her in the blue saree. She has a long lovely braid (extensions i guess) but i love that she went all out with that look.
oh so pretty in both! totally works both styles.
Cuff no like much
She looks super cute in both outfits.
I don’t who wrote the rule that brown girls should wear brown lipstick? I never follow it and prefer peach, dusty pink or light berry, brightens you up without clashing with skin tone.
PnP, you are so right! It is hard to believe that both pics are the same person. It actually looks like mother and daughter to me…
(blue saree being the mother, of course:-) )
props to this actress for working it on the red carpet in her own unique way!! The cuff is a nice addition, but the color contrast may have been too vivid to tie the whole look, but still props to her for doing something more offbeat. Hope she continues to have a blast and to more accolades.
