At The Awards

More Padma awards were given out today in New Delhi with the receipients being Kajol, Irfan and Shashi Kapoor from the entertainment world.
Kajol picked a royal blue Manish Malhotra sari for the event. I may hate the gold thong platforms but I think she looked good in the royal blue.

  1. face looks gorgeous, sarees o.k but the shoes are truly horrendous!! I don’t think I’ve ever seen her in decent footwear, with all her money and connections you’d think she’d have some taste! Obviously she’s a women who goes on comfort rather than looks, so why not go for a simple chappel or a kitten heel? it’d look so much prettier than these.

  3. kajol looks nice, but prefer the simple saree of our president the cream & red combo looks very nice.
madhuri, aishwarya, kajol etc should opt for simple, non-see thru sarees for this event.

  4. Great to see Shashi Kapoor – love of my life when I was a kid and his old movie songs used to be shown on Doordarshan.
Looks regal even in a wheel chair.

Kajol on the other hand – less said the better. I am all for comfort over style – but this is ugly.

  5. Kajol’s sari is something I can totally imagine on a mannequin in a cheap androon shehr (inner city) boutique.
and it pains me no end to see Shashi Kapoor in that condition; arguably one of the most handsome bollywood actor ever (along with Dharmendra). He can’t really be all that old. Did he have a stroke or something? Does anyone have any idea?

  6. Kajol Kajol Kajol! Why does she do these platform sandals, yes I understand she is going for comfort but come on? There are comfortable heels that still allow you to look long and lean. The color is wonderful on her however, the design on the Sari kills it! She should try a more stripped down Sabayasachi and let go of MM he doesn’t do right by her curvy post baby figure 🙁 And no more anarkalis they make her look stumpy

  7. I would kill to see kajol in a traditional saree like Silk, kanjeevaram or banarsi. Dsn she get sick of MM designs (atleast this one is not from the ( yawnnn) blingy chiffon MM factory)

  10. Shashi Kapoor is being awarded the Padma Shri now??? Isn’t it atleast 20 years too late? Not only is he a movie legend but was also very active in theatre. Nice to see him, even if in a wheel chair. He seems to have lost a lot of weight, hope he is well.

Irfan looks hot! So well dressed.

Kajol’s saree is terrible, but for the colour. She would be such a good candidate for a Sabya makeover.

  11. Just wanted to correct the caption under the photographs, on your website, they were the Padma awards. Some received the Padmashri, some the Padmabhushan and others the Padmavibhushan. They are different awards, based on each individual’s achievements.

  12. I like the blue but not the trim. I don’t love her makeup either. I think she looks better with heavier eye makeup to accentuate her light eyes.

  14. That picture of Shashi Kapoor almost had me in tears – I love Shashi Kapoor, the man’s gorgeous, so refined, gentle, thoughtful, poured money he earned from mainstream cinema into producing alternative films, kept Prithvi Theatre alive, was devoted to his wife through her life. The list just goes on and on. Shashi ji, I really hope you pull through – may you have great health and good cheer.
