This is a Manish Malhotra? Looks very similar to a SABYASACHI border, and that work on pallu/pleats! Interesting….
I think Kajol looks lovely :)

      i agree.Very reminiscent of a sabya border…

that saree has Sabyasachi written all over it! The color combination and the pallu detail. It’s all Sabya!

The saree looks like a sabya copy …soooo much like sabya …chi chi manish …not done even teh kareena wax statue unveiling was so close to a sabya !!!

I also think it looks like a Sabya. Anyways, she looks nice. If i had to be nit picky , i wish she had better make up and a bra.

Totally agree! She does look nice but wish she put in a little more effort

lol! i agree, the Kareena one was a bad copy, but I could still tell it was a ‘copy’. this one is screaming SABYA!!

MM sure? the border and the “Kalka” (a bengali term for the pattern) pattern in the saree looks like Sabyasachi’s work

The saree is nice but Kajol looks tired and make-up is cakey.

i like the saree. that’s IT!

Does Sabya have a patent on that type of border or what ?
I have seen so many small shops in my hometown selling such sarees (years back ! ) …

These are the type of sarees that women ( my mom including ) wear day to day and I dont see how they can become the “creation” of one particular designer !!!!

PS: Just to clarify things, I am not a MM fan !

Agree with most comments here.. Too much resemblance to Sabya’s style..

I think the mesh blouse matches the balck mesh like work on the saree.

A sight for sore eyes following picture after picture of tacky, shiny, too-tight hideousness.

She looks good neck down, love the sari. But her makeup does not look good. :/

    very sabya…

PnP surprised you never noticed. This is a blatant copy of a Sabyasachi sari. Who ever is the designer is quite shameless if he/she thinks no one would notice. I work with Sabya.

At first when I saw the pic I thought it was a Sabya ..didnt look like MM

This is not Sabya you mean? wow whoever designed it has copied Sabya. Kajol looks ok much better than some of her other appearances. Only time she looks really nice is in KJO movie. maybe she should hire him as a stylist.

    1. KJ at | | Reply

That comment cracked me up… hire KJO as stylist.

I love her.. she looks so normal and regular person, atleast she doesn’t hire a stylist and designer for every step out of the house… Beautiful saree, and that blouse is just perfect…

Disclaimer: Not a MM fan or sabya fan.

This border is not patented by sabya, am surprised when people call this a sabya border. I have seen this border and style way before Sabya’s productions. You can see a lot of resemblance in sayba’s work with sarees/clothes in the old indian miniature paintings or Freida Kahlo’s work. He is good, but I would not stamp these borders as “Sabya’s”.

Lovely saree & I do not mind the blouse at all……….at least she has a blouse on unlike Twinkle

      HAHAHA that was funny.

PS. I love Kajol’s saari and blouse both.
