Sari Style

Kajol looked lovely in a sari (Manish Malhotra?) at the awards. The mesh blouse however had no business being part of that ensemble! Oh Kajol, if only you had opted for a regular black one.

P.S: The clutch is Malaga by Malini Agarwalla.

  1. This is a Manish Malhotra? Looks very similar to a SABYASACHI border, and that work on pallu/pleats! Interesting….
I think Kajol looks lovely :)

  3. Does Sabya have a patent on that type of border or what ?
I have seen so many small shops in my hometown selling such sarees (years back ! ) …

These are the type of sarees that women ( my mom including ) wear day to day and I dont see how they can become the “creation” of one particular designer !!!!

PS: Just to clarify things, I am not a MM fan !

  4. PnP surprised you never noticed. This is a blatant copy of a Sabyasachi sari. Who ever is the designer is quite shameless if he/she thinks no one would notice. I work with Sabya.

  5. This is not Sabya you mean? wow whoever designed it has copied Sabya. Kajol looks ok much better than some of her other appearances. Only time she looks really nice is in KJO movie. maybe she should hire him as a stylist.

  6. I love her.. she looks so normal and regular person, atleast she doesn’t hire a stylist and designer for every step out of the house… Beautiful saree, and that blouse is just perfect…

  7. Disclaimer: Not a MM fan or sabya fan.

This border is not patented by sabya, am surprised when people call this a sabya border. I have seen this border and style way before Sabya’s productions. You can see a lot of resemblance in sayba’s work with sarees/clothes in the old indian miniature paintings or Freida Kahlo’s work. He is good, but I would not stamp these borders as “Sabya’s”.
