In Hervé Léger. And In Donna Karan.

The mother-daughter duo cut quite the picture at LFW… While Sridevi wore a Donna Karan dress, her daughter Jhanvi sported a Léger.

Well, the young Ms. Kapoor has our attention! It’d be interesting to see how her style evolves as she grows older…

  1. Isn’t her daughter a bit too young to dress up in such an adult way? I guess its the malaise of dressing older that’s gripped kids across the world, particularly the celeb world..

    • Her daughter is now 14, i don’t think thats too young, shes getting dressed up for a fashionable event not for a boy or a date or anything. Also she carries herself well. If we really want to talk about age we could even that Sri is too old to be dressing that way (according to indian culture) but she maintains a particular poise that makes it ok.

      • I think its okay for a young girl to dress like a lady but I am definitely not okay with an older woman dressing like a teenager (hint..Ms. Arora Khan)

      • Yes! Her daughter is way too young to be dressed like this! And IMHO too young to be commented on too.
And please, I’m as Indian as they get, but I’ve never heard anyone complaining about a tastefully covered woman! It’s not like she’s going to the Mandir – cause that’d be a different story!

      • In response to your “its not for a boy or date”-I’d be much more comfortable with my hypothetical 14 yr old dating a boy her age (who is presumably her age and schoolmate) rather than be around the crowd at the LFW.

  3. I just can’t believe that how young Sridevi looks and what a great figure she has got,Sri and her daughters look like firends or sisters but not mom and daughters.

  4. Contrary to everyone else’s comments, I am not really liking Sridevi’s…at all…it looks like she is trying way too hard, and especially dislike the shoulders, it makes it look broad, the mannequin one looks tons better…..sridevi’s legs are not pleasing either..
Jhanvi’s looking good except for those ugly shoes, but wow….nice mom-daughter 😉

  5. I agree that Jhanvi is too young to be draped in Léger. I have been very complmetary of Sridevi’s sense of style in ths past. She is fabulous looking no doubt. Of late, though, it seems that she is trying too hard. And the effort shows. A true sense of style is seemingly effortless.

  6. I’m all for raiding your mums closet (or dads), but this is just that wee bit too grown-up for a 14 year old. Where’s the quirk, the personality and zing, the slight OTT- ness that dressing up at that age has? This just seems too styled and adult for it to have truly been her choice. She has enough time in the world to be forced into this short, tight, black mini mould, without it happening so early on in life.
Or, maybe I’m just old- fashioned and uncool! :/

      • This reminds me of the recent outrage over french brand Jours Apres Lunes which has made lingerie for young kids and their advertisement has 4 year old girls posing provocatively in lingerie with pearls and beehive hair. I think its shocking and apalling. It actually makes 10-year-old model Thylane Blondeau’s seductive shoot in Paris Vogue look lame. This really brings us to ask the question ‘how young is too young?’ Different people have different opinions considering that the designer has defended her line..

I guess the fine line between whats right and wrong seems to be fading everyday!
