Bollywood stars/”show-stoppers” have become ubiquitous during Fashion Weeks and so, it certainly came as no surprise to see yet another starlet take to the runway… This time, Jacqueline who walked for designer Rakesh Agarvwal. Like?

  1. After Kangana it’s hard to impress nearly as much. Like the color though. This one seems more wearable but I’m still trying to get my hands on Kangana’s if I ever get married 😉

  2. I second Sej.
What is that red dupatta-thing in her hand? As in, why is it there?
Also, some jewelry – maybe, earrings – wouldn’t hurt. Right now, it looks like she got dressed in a rush.

  3. I love it. If a western outfit had this kind of embellishment it would look overtly saccharin and blinged-out, but its perfect for Indian bridal wear 🙂 Lately I’m finding myself very drawn towards this asthetic, although I would have dismissed it as OTT before. Maybe it has to do with my moving back to India.

I hate the little silver belt though, it looks like an unnecessary afterthought, as does the red dupatta.

    • I am fine the silver belt.
Though the red duppatta doesnt do much harm, its uneccessary.

I wonder at what range these lehengas will cost.

Like anyone knows how many digits the cost would have ?
      Something like 50,000 INR ?

  4. I like! minus the waist band thing and the orange dupatta.

    P & P:

I have a question for you…would this be OTT for my sister’s wedding? I mean is this what a bride would wear to her reception or can I wear something like that too LOL I only have one sister and I wanna go all out haha but im afraid i might overdo it much like the bollywood ladies 😉

    • LOL I am not P & P but still giving my two cents. I’d say if ur sister’s is something as heavy as Kangana’s or a little lighter then that this one wouldn’t be OTT for u to wear at all.

  5. ALSO: are lehengas out of style now? I have this one which has an A-line silhoutte so its not exactly the straight cut ones ppl wear nowadays..and is a lehenga like that too much to wear to a family friend’s wedding reception?

clearly im going thru a fashion crisis haha any help is appreciated! 🙂

    • @ pretty little liar…

I dont think lehenga’s are out of style at all.. have attended 2 “big fat Indian” weddings in the last 6 months and lehengas were quite in vogue..

IMHO, its all in our minds. Indian weddings are so vibrant and free-for-all (as compared to western weddings) with bigger guest lists and “heavy” garments/jewellery/ makeup, you can wear just about anything and not more than 10% of the ppl there will notice (think about it) – unless you are the bride / groom / immediate family.

I say where whatever makes you feel like a million bucks!! Cheers!

  6. gorgeous outfit! minus the belt and red dupatta ofcourse. Never liked Jacqueline though, she photographs a bit too masculine. she’s much softer in person!

  7. Yes… the dress is the focal point of this look…. not her makeup or jewellery… nothing distracts from the dress, except maybe her fresh face?
