Nothing works for me in this outfit, not the dress itself (a princess dress for a day event, really???), not the hair, not the makeup,nor the shoes…. She even seems to be carrying herself awkwardly….

There are TONS of ways Sonali/Vidya could dress interesting, be experimental, dress according to their body type and be called fashionable other than THIS particular ensemble Sonam is wearing. It’s a pity that they don’t. And that’s called having style; that you manage to wear what looks good on your body type AND rock it! That is the precise difference between a wannabe person who follows fashion trends disregarding their body type and someone who is original and dress according to what looks good on them. When I go out and look around, majority of people DONOT have a height/face like Sonam, YET some of them manage to look even more stunning than her:)
Anyway, I didn’t wanna continue this but when I heard you say ‘Fashion is cruel’ I just had to out my 2 cents in, since I don’t agree with that.

@Clueless – I respect the fact that you’ve chosen to speak out – But thought I should point out a few things:
1. I dont think pointint out someone’s double chin to refer to a bad photograph or an unflattering one is the same thing as calling someone “ugly person who cheats on her…” blah blah – One can be libel, the other’s not. Which probably drives PnP to approve/disapprove some posts

2. Ash and Sonam seem to generate a lot of controversy – its almost as if a lot of people feel they have to belong to one camp or the other. But really, i see no comparison. Ash is in her mid-thirties and probably at the end of a phase in her career. SOnam is just starting out, is young and in a different phase of life. She dresses VERY differently than anyone in tinsel town that I have ever seen – she knows she has the height and attitude to carry the clothes off and she does it!! Aishwarya is from a different “fashion” generation with a different personality – SHe can carry a sabyasachi sari like noone else for example.. I am not sure Sonam would look that elegant in the same thing..

3. Dont shoot the messenger!!! I defend PnP’s right to have favorites among celebrities.. As long as you get your say, why care???

i really honestly believe and have seen that no matter what your body type, you can always wear something that suits you and still look fashionable and beautiful. its all about KNOWING what to wear. and our bolly ladies are very far from that.

another thing is Payal and Priyanka do give credit where credit is due. eg: soha ali khan, amrita rao or even vidya balan in her white anarkali. we might or might not agree to it but thats only because we have different opinions on fashion.

However, i also agree to your last point where i have felt several times that the moderators get touchy about the comments posted her and then seem to approve almost everything for certain celebs. i have seen the trashiest comments in some aishwarya rai/lakshmi menon posts and have also seen them defending sonam in her posts or severely moderating in freida posts. at the end of the day, yes its their blog and they have every right to say/do what they want but i sincerely feel a fashion blog has to be totally unbiased :))

@ Clueless:Fashion is cruel but I don’t believe that you can’t dress fashionably according to your body type.I am 5 1″ and not really the skinniest but I do take risks with my clothes and spend some time on what would look good together.So while THIS particular outfit might not look good on Vidya and Sonali,there are so many ways in which they could dress fashionably.I know its probably unrelated to fashion but I do think celebs should make an effort to become fit and toned;not become anorexic and starve but work out and stuff.You are in the entertainment business after all,its your job to look good!That way,I do feel both Ash and Sush have let themselves go,no longer any toned figures.Sonam can do with some toning too but she still keeps my excitement levels high with regard to her fashion,I know I look forward to a fashion post of her’s each time on hhc.About comments,I feel they are ok as long as they talk about physical appearances.Sure if a dress makes someone look bulky,I think its okay to say it makes them look fat ;again that is just my opinion.But what honestly gets me are personal attacks or gossip mongering.On some of the Freida posts,there was stuff abt her ex and how she had no morals,I mean WT hell?Its her personal life and choice.But I think comments like Ash looks like Abhi’s mother are meant to imply she looks older or he looks younger but don’t reflect or comment on their personal relationship.In that regard,I agree with what Anita mentioned but again that is just my opinion.I do understand some comments might annoy someone else.

@Clueless, thank you. Because someone has the so-called perfect body shape does not mean everything they wear looks good or is appropriate.

The administrators need to be objective and apply the rules even handedly.
