In Anita Dongre
January 12th, 2010 at 12:25 am . by PayalWhile I am not a big fan of the high-neck halter blouse, I think Gul looks great in this version of Anita Dongre’s sari with the pulled back hair. If there is one thing I would change (besides the blouse, of course), it would be that clutch. It’s doesn’t make for a good contrast against the black and green.

of all the desginers available to you, why would you pick THIS sari!!!?!?

I would have taken black or turquiose or silver .There are already 2 colors in sarri so contrast not required.. i guess.
Ditto. I would have taken black, silver, or a sea green (bottega knot) – nothing shiny. The saree doesnt need it.

Anyone know what is that triangle thats on Gul’s right shoulder? Its distracting.

Errr… I do not like the saree
Terrible.. didnt like the Sari and Gul’s look… She is looking pale.. and then no jewellery… You do not do Sari’s without jewellery…
Actually its one of the trends lately, to skip jewellery so the design of the saree stands out. I think she looks good.
I don’t much like Anitas version but Guls saree is very elegant, and she looks stunning with the pulled back hair. Although a nice pair of earrings, maybe diamonds would have looked even better. The clutch is very jarring though – should have ditched it.

if i had seen the sari only on anita, i would prolly never even look at it. but seeing it on gul, i actually wish i had a sari like this to wear on simple occasions, though i know that this very sari is gonna cost me a lot to even own.
She can’t pull off a sari. As someone said rightly said, she does not have the elegance, attitude or grace required for a sari.
A sari is a very feminine piece of clothing and to pull it off you require the right body language which she lacks.
Also, the sari is bad.

personally I prefer Anita’s look, kind of pleasant to look at.
I think Gul did a pretty good job (minus the clutch) she has pretty poor fashion sense but looks quite nice here and of the two sarees her one is the better one. Earrings and a litte more colour on her face would have really helped too.

I don’t like both saris. Boring.
I love Gul’s look. So elegant and sophisticated. Would love to carry off a sari like that.
