In Gaurav Gupta

Ms. D’Souza has really kept it interesting this awards weekend. First, the Nachiket without highlights, then the Peacock with highlights and for the final night, it was a Gaurav Gupta gown minus highlights again. (Unless, am blind and they are hidden.)

I love Gaurav Gupta designs but in this case there is no love for the gown. Love the front but not the frilly back. (Anybody else being reminded of Godzilla’s spine?)

Update: I take back everything I just said. She looks fabulous in these new pics (below!)

  1. i think she looks pretty and matured, not bubbly cheering that she alays tries to sport, she looks like a woman not a girl
i also quite like the dress, the back though reminds me of badly draped pallu of a saree, but still i like it

  2. although the dress is a horrible piece of design (i mean why become a designer when you suck so much at it), she looks really really pretty in the first pictures.

  3. I liked her (not that gown though)m – but wow, her look still works!! she scores 101/100 especially in the picture where Ms. Sunanda is seen at the back ground (might be a matter of comparisons)

  4. The dress is just a bunch of random design elements thrown in : cheap shiny fabric – check; weird oddly placed ruching – check; random side seam (WTF?) ruffle – check; obligatory neckline cutout – check; stupid half-assed rosette detail – check. I mean, really. Genelia manages to salvage most looks with her smile but this is just fugly.

  5. Ugly outfit. She looks fab though. Dont understand their weirdly draped “fake couture” gowns! She looked great in the black white Nachiket dress.
